be ready you will hear everything i have heard the computer was down....holds etc. and just plain and simple dont expect your car for a while
black GT
I ordered mine 7/28 on A plan and have zero info. No VIN, build date, anything. My dealer says it's a Ford mix up. I think the dealer would struggle to find his own bottom with a flashlight and map.
I've pretty much resigned myself to getting the car when I get it. Shame, we've been having nice driving weather lately too.

Thats crap-go back to the dealership, tell them that you know that people have assigned VINs for active orders. If they won't get serious with your purchase request, go find a dealer that will. A dealership makes an adequate return from an A plan ...Whatsupwitdat :nono:
Just want to reiterate. If your dealer isn't giving you info. Stop asking.
They're not gonna get smarter or less lazy. (Well, some will.)

You get the right person at Ford and they'll tell you whatever you need to know.
Having said that. I did have to go down to the dealer to get the actual VIN.
But Ford gave me all my status dates.

I didn't know they would be so unable to provide me with updates.
I don't even know *why* they couldn't provide me with updates.
Not really concerned about them. I got all the info I needed one way or another.
As far as I'm concerned, they're just a conduit between me and Ford.
I'm not unhappy with them, just indifferent.
Sure, it would've been nice to have a more enthusiastic dealer like one of the several guys that frequent this board.
And if Kev's still workin' in Chantilly in 4 or 5 years, maybe I'll pay him a visit.
As far as why I went to this particular dealer, it was basically a process of elimination.
There are 4 dealers near me: Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Wake Forest. I had some brief contact with people at all 4 starting back in July and although they all didn't seem to know a whole lot, the people in Wake Forest seemed more prepared. I was originally gonna get a Vert and the dude in Cary (via email) said there weren't going to be any Verts. Sure, somebody else at Cary probably knows different. And there were probably other guys at Durham and Raleigh that knew more than the guy that got to come talk to me too. But the lady at Wake Forest knew enough to keep me there. The conversation started something like this. Me: "I'm interested in an 05 mustang." Her: "Oh, nice! I just got a '69 and am planning on getting an '06". So you can guess she knew more than the other guys. But I digress (I think).
That's why my bad dealer has my business.
