As I was sitting at dinner last nite my DW asked me the follow question, "Do I have to take my car back to the dealer I bought it from to have work done that is under warranty?"

My response was yes. However, speaking with a gentleman I work with, he informed me I could take it to any Ford dealership.

Please set me and my wife straight on this issue.

TIA

You can take it to any dealer... some people didn't even buy their car in the same state!

The gentleman is correct, any Ford dealership can perform warranty work.

I bought my car in PA (Pittsburgh) too, but have since moved to MD. Where do you get your warranty work done? I live in Columbia and Apple Ford is horrible!

Funny I bought my car from Apple Ford but not the one in Columbia. I got mine in Red Lion PA outside of York. I wonder if they are part of the same chain of dealers.

I get my service at Len Stoler in Reisterstown MD. They have been ok no complaints yet but no fantastic service.

They are a Roush dealer though and had no problems doing service work even if I modded and tuned the car as long as it wasn't blatant that my mods caused the repair.

Awesome, thanks! Thats what I like to hear, no issue with doing warranty work on a modified car.

Well that is what they said to me on Monday. And as we all know saying and doing are two different things.

We'll see when I do some mods and take it in.
