Vibration sound coming from shifter area

I am all of a sudden getting a rattling sound coming from the transmission area. I went under the car today and looked to see if my Saleen short throw was loose, but everything checked out okay. Any other ideas?

May or may not be your problem, but when it rattles, try holding the plastic part of your e-brake. I had a rattle coming from the same area and finally found out that its the plastic part of the e-brake. I am trying to figure out a fix for mine now. Don't know if that will help or not. Just a thought from personal experiance.

To be safe have the u-joints checked. When my u-joint went bad on my '86, the vibration started and then became much worse as time went on. It eventually ruined the trans etc.

I am 99.9% sure it's the shifter linkage. I played around a bit with it today on my way to work. The noise went away when I applied side pressure to the shift know when I was in gear. I bet the dang shift linkage on the trans has come loose. I should just take it into the dealer and have them look at it, but they will probably blame my Saleen shift adaptor.

Keep me updated on that fix will ya?

Also, I think I have that same vibration and I have a Pro 5.0 shifter. Does it feel like it's coming from around your feet?

I haven't had time to get unter the car. It's definetly something related to the shifter. If I put lateral pressure on the shifter, the vibration stops. I am almost positive the bolt that connect the linkage to the trans has vibrated loose.

Mine doesn't stop when I put pressure on the shifter and I've tightened everything on the shifter so that's not it for me atleast.
