Hmmm...well, the rest of the cars in that photo must be completely stock...especially the nice little number next to the woody.

It's not an original pal...there were no verts.

With the kind of torque that is rumored in a 500 horse Cobra version, I doubt they are going to chop the roof and compund any twisty problems.... Just a guess on my part though.
the viper is a vert and has 500hp and your point is what...?
Apples and oranges. The Viper is a 2-seater. It's much easier to make a 2-seater stiff enough for a convertible application. It's also $80,000+, which buys you a lot of engineering.

there wasn't a vert mach1 in 03' & 04' because the machs from 69-78 were all coupe's-no verts
That's about the stupidest reason not to make 05 Mach I verts (or 03-04's for that matter)

No sir you cannot get traction control on the 05 Mustang, because we didn't have traction control back in 65...
That analogy doesn't work, they are saying that there won't be new Mach verts because of tradition, traction control is a technology developed over time and implemented. According to your anaolgy, I guess we gotta take out the fuel injection, air bags, CD players, ect...

I just wanted to demonstrate that finding any reason of not having had something in the past excuse not having it today is just too dumb for words. If we all thought like this we'd be riding dinosaurs instead of Stangs

My point is: The bean counters still want to keep even the Cobra as affortable as they can. You are right on the Viper.......but just how many $$$ are you willing to pay for the engineered vert? Just my opinion.....

i think the problem with this argument in whole is the fact that there will be no 500hp cobra anyways..... it will more then likely be in the 425hp range at most, ford is not trying to have its cobra mustang at 35-40k be a GT beater($140k). I think with the newer, much stiffer chasis they will have no problem making convertible for any model they want
