OK folks. Called in my Order Number to Ford Customer Service, and they tols me (after quite a hold) that my Vert has been "serialized", and is awaiting build scheduling. Anybody wish to offer explanatiuons of what that means?

that means that you're doing a lot better than a lot of us. It has been scheduled to have a VIN and build date assigned

That's good to hear. My GT was serialized yesterday, but I wasn't really sure what that meant.

So...is "serialized" a better status that "C/U"? My status was never told to me as C/U. Are the Verts still scheduled to start building next week (January 31)?

I talked to my salesman and apparently serial#'s will be in on Feb, 4th and build dates will be given the following tuesday.
My vert is also UnCL\SCH.
BTW, "serialized" is a move foward Which none of the verts are,(yet).

I'm "serialized", but have not been given a serial number. Does the "serialized" status occur before the car is issued a VIN?

Well I''ve officially joined the waiting for build crew. I went in and ordered my GT Vert today. I'm a bit worried about not having an order no. yet. My salesman happened to be off today but the sales manager helped me out and seemed to know what he was talking about. He used the vehicle order confirmation the salesman had faxed to me the day before to write up a sales receipt showing the price, options, L&T, tax, less my refundable $500 deposit.

I'm assuming what happens now is that they turn the vehicle order confirmation into an actual order that would generate an order number. Is that correct? I'm going to give the salesman a call tomorrow.

The manager did give me the whole run down about the shortage of 'my color' hardware and the delays when ordering with IUP. He predicted I would take delivery late July or August. I hope it's earlier than that.

Centurion,

The order number should be listed in the upper left hand corner of your Vehicle Order Confirmation. It should also list your last name, Dealer #, Date & Time ordered, and the vehicle details (codes). Don't get hung up (literally) trying to call the Ford Customer Service number, although they did tell me last week that I'm "serialized" and awaiting a scheduled build date, they will direct you back to the dealer relentlessly. Seems weird, since Ford builds the car, and the dealer does not.

I joined the crowd last night also. Ordered my Silver GT vert, IUP, color acccent package, alrm system, vert boot, 5 spd, bullit wheels, side air bags. Only I was told it should be about May. Hope he is closer to being right than July or August. We'll see.

July/August seems to be quite a streach. Although not exactly Vert weather here (24 inches of snow in last weekend's blizzard), I'm hopeful for a delivery time of April/May. Gotta believe Ford will want these on the roads sooner than later, since the Vert will be introduced to the world right before Super Bowl kickoff.

Already mentioned this on a different post, but, just received a call from my dealer, and double checked with Ford Customer Service, and both confirmed a build week of February 14. Still no VIN # yet, but at least I have a "build date" to go with.
