Valve Cover bolt missing

I was cleaning my CAI today and looking at the engine, fluids etc when I noticed a valve cover bolt missing. I've had my Mustang GT since June 05. The bolt must have never been installed at the factory. Has anyone else looked and noticed any bolts missing on their 4.6? Guess I'll have to give the dealer a call tomorrow.

Ford skips a lot of bolts, like 2 on the cover for the bell housing on the transmission that cause rattling.

Are you sure you're missing a bolt? There is at least one extra hole on each cover near the front that are used for push-in connectors. I've attached a pic below of my RH covers when I had them off doing the powdercoat exchange so you can see the situation. 6 bolts on top, 6 on the bottom and 1 at each end. I don't have a pic of the LH side but I believe it's the same.

missing bolt

I'm going to bring it in to the dealer to get their opinion. The reason I believe a bolt is missing is because I can see threads down in the hole and because the other cover doesn't have any holes showing with threads. I'll find out next week and let you know.

If you are talking about the hole on the passenger side, it is not used.
