V6 Tranny oil leak !

I have an issue with leaking transmission oil !

When the car was sitting in the garage for a couple of days I get a big spot of red oil on the garage floor under the car near or just forward of the shifter.

After seeing a post on this forum about the leaking seal I went ahead and changed it, but no change it is still leaking.

I have lifted the car again to clean and find the source, there's no point where I can see oil leaking but I have a mist of oil on all the underbody near and forward of the yoke. It seems that the oil is splashed by the rotation of the yoke or it's a mist comming from somewhere else. And after sitting for a day or two all that oil starts dripping.

I have check all the area I can think of for a leak, the shifter arm, the drain and fill plugs, the speed sensor and the top cover, but no sign of leak.

Where should I look now ?

Can the oil exit from a breather somewhere or an overflow ?

Looking forward for your suggestions.

Dean

i had a transmission line leak also early when i got the car around 10,000 miles. i just brought it in and the ford techs just had to screw something back together that somehow broke apart. it happened again after another 15,000-20,000 miles and had to repair it again. hasnt happend again but yeah, for some reason ford decided not to pay much attention to quality there.

You probably have an automatic, and it could be a leak from the cooler. But I forgot to mention that mine is Manual....

Thanks,

UPDATE:

After more investigaton, the leak is from the vent on top of the transmission.

What could cause the oil to escape from the vent ?

Firs time I see this !

Interesting - brought my 2010 V6 in today for an oil change, and they told me the transmission is leaking bad - and to get it in ASAP.

They tell me its not coming from the pan gasket - but they think from where the engine meets the tranny.... I've only got 14k on it... WTF!
