Upgraded suspension with Fanblades and 18" Bullitts?

I believe this question was asked awhile back before the server meltdown. I can't find it now with a search so I'm asking it again since I'm trying to finalize my option list before ordering an '07.

Is the factory suspension different/upgraded when you order one of the 18" wheel options vs. staying with the 17s? I checked the Ford site and can't find anything there, either. Thanks in advance.

Found this on the Canadian Ford Media site:

"In the 2006 model year, Mustang GT also will have new a choice of two new 18-inch polished aluminum wheels – the largest tires ever fitted to a production V-8 Mustang since the 2000 SVT Cobra R model – and unique suspension tuning calibrated to the larger treads."

I assume this would apply to 07's?

I'm still curious about this too. The only way to know for sure is if there are different part #'s for the shocks/springs/struts available for the GT's w/ 18's. Kevin Casey, you're being paged!

Otherwise, I would think it's just marketing BS, something intended at press time but maybe never put into production?

I have seen this asked many of times. But never an answer!
Maybe by suspension tuning, its a fancy way of saying alignment.

Then technically I might be your man to answer. Ill look at 06 specs in our Hunter machine see if theres an option.

When I aligned mine I had to use 05 specs on 06 with 18's, and it came out fine, so I dunno, I look tomorrow.

"Steering rack"!!?? I hope that's not the case, as I ordered mine with 17s because I am going to upgrade the suspension and wheels on my own.

Is it a faster or slower steering rack? What are the specific specs of the two?

Just the internal valving is different to accept the higher loads of the 18's. Dapens steering wheel nibble better.

So if I am going to install Tokico D-Specs and Eibach pro-Kit along with a set of 19lb. 18x10s on all four corners - I shouldn't be bothered at all that I didn't order the car with 18s? In other words, the differences in the steering rack alone if it's not a quicker ratio - shouldn't bumb me out considering the above parts have waiting to be installed next weekend when my car arrives?

Wow, sorry for the wordy questions!
