Update on windows opening on their own & same with locks (Service Call)
Well, the tech. said he checked all fuse relays, electronic modules and said there is no sign of moisture at all. He has ordered a new REK Module (per Ford Motor Co.), which is something that works hand in hand with the remote entry. It will take at least a week to get the part(s), so I took my car with me today & will take it back in when the part comes in. As much rain as we've had here in the Pac northwest, and everything being bone dry in the car that needs to be makes me feel good, especially considering all the water leak problems I've read about from other owners. Felt mighty fine hopping behind the wheel of my car today and turning in that F150 long bed.

All of the Mustangs 'could work'........ it's my understanding that the global window was just disabled at the factory (mid '05 thru present), but can be enabled at any time at your service shop. I just opted to disable mine, and the tech said it could be enabled at any time. When he logged onto the vehicle computer through some kind of modem in the shop it gives you an option on the software to 'disable' or 'enable'.

I tried three different dealerships, they all couldn't get it working. Even if they "enable" it in the computer, Global Windows will still not function. There is some module missing in there that makes it mechanically not function. If you have an early '05, it can be enabled, but at some point they started leaving some module out. They said the windows rolling down by themselves was why the engineers starting dissabling them permanently.

Cleaning out some old paperwork, I found my receipt from a dealer that tried to get my Global Windows working:
AS PER SSM 18755 VEH BUILT AFTER 1-3-05 NOT EQUIPPED WITH THIS FUNCTION AND CANNOT BE REACTIVATED

Brad, it sure would be nice if Ford would come out and said exactly 'WHY' the global window feature was not put on any 'Stangs after this date. Was it because the wiondows had a mind of their own....or something else????
