I'm the kind of Mustang owner that's always been a fan of the Mustang (and muscle cars in general but Mustangs were always tops with me) but could never afford one. I always knew I would own one someday, but I thought I would be in my mid thirties, well established at my job. Not in my mid twenties waking up every morning wondering if I want to stay at my present job one day longer. I'm 26 and only owned 4 cars up to now. 1988 Chevrolet Corsica, 1999 Hyundai Accent GL, 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, and 2006 Ford Mustang v6.
As you can tell I always went for the cars I knew afford with ease. Banks around here like to jack the interest rate on young folks when it comes to financing any kind of sporting car.
This is my first Mustang and I'm sure it won't be my last. Ideally I'd like to keep her until she's physically not driveable any more. I wouldn't say that I bleed Ford blue, but now that I'm on this side, I'm really liking some of the products that I'm seeing...such as the Ford Fusion. Fusion was going to be my 4th car (was less than a week away from signing papers on having one built) when I saw the commercial for 0% financing on all Ford cars, so that was my opportunity to get a Mustang. I knew that if I "blew" this chance I'd be kicking myself for a long, long time. I'm looking at adding a 2nd car to my line up and it's a good chance it'll be a Ford. Just not sure if it'll be the Fusion I originally intended to get, a (stripped down...work truck really) Ford Ranger for utility or if I will add another Mustang (v6 convertible if I'm lucky) to the line up. I will say this, sense taking ownership of my Mustang, I have taken a deeper look at the Ford products than I did before ownership...so maybe my blood is starting to turn blue just a bit.
