well since I originally had this problem (and it wasnt just a chime or the comp saying it was open, it actually opened) I havent had it again, I dont know what has changed as I havent done anything different, the only thing I can think of is since the plastic screws holding the plastic lining onto the inside of the trunk keep popping off and thus causing that plastic piece to just pop loose off the rear/inside of the trunk, so this might have fixed the problem, perhaps it was too much pressure or on too tight and would trigger something to release the trunk and no since it is loose it doesnt happen any more, another thing that has changed is I removed the housding for the third brake light area so that I can smoke the light and I never put it back on, if I recall correctly, since I am not at my car right now, the plastic escape tab to pull and open the trunk went through that housing so maybe it was getting caught on something on that, dunno.
