Been reading posts for a while here now. Deciding to get some help from you guys. Everything i have seen has been informative and helpful. Nice to see others loving what i love!!! MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting a lot worried and need help guys. Ordered and '06 GT Premium Vista Blue from my dealer on June 3, 2005. Haven't gotten anything from dealer for it. Everytime i ask about it i get very vague answers from them. Never got a VOC or a DORA from them. I ask and they tell me they have no information for me. i find that hard to believe and now reading some of your guys posts i see how wrong i am.

I had an '88 GT vert for many years and loved her. Got rid of it for an '01 TransAm WS6 (BAD CHOICE!!!) then went through several sedans since then due to cash flow after getting married... Fell in love with the new '05 style and have dreamed about since... Finally was able to order a '06 thanks to my beautiful wife (God, i love her!!!). Cant wait to have my new baby!!!

Worried about what to do to get answers from my dealer. Have thought about and threatened to take my businees to a new dealer but afraid to lose my place in line for a '06 since hopefully the order has been in for a month already. Waiting so long already!!!

Any one out there that has some thoughts about what i can do to get answers? Hope i haven't been taken by this guy... HELP?!?!?! Does the dealer HAVE to provide a DORA or a expect date???

 

John, that stinks... I would be very worried. If you don't mind waiting to see what happens I guess just wait. However, if they are not willing to give you proof they even ordered your car I'm not sure you have a place in line to worry about losing. I'm trying to think of reasons why they would be like this. Have you discussed price with them? Meaning did they say MSRP, no more no less? If MSRP is agreed they wouldn't not show you a VOC or DORA becuase the invoice and MSRP prices are both on there. What part of the country are you in. Maybe there are members on here that can send you to a good dealer who will be upfront with you on what place in line you will be and how many GT's they get in per month (allocation). I'm in So. Cali. and my saleguy will tell me for sure what place the next order would be in. He told me I'm first and sure enough I have a VIN number already.

edit: sorry, I see your in IL. Anyone on here can send John to a good dealer in IL? Hey "ISELLFORD" how far of a drive would John have, if he ordered from you? What place in line would he be? Just a thought.

 

I agree, go to anoher Dealer. From what I have seen ISELLFORD, has done nobody wrong and is probably more than worth the drive/flight.

Mine should be a Vista Blue Coupe with IUP with all else standard(at least that's how i ordered it). Dealer said he would charge list for it what ever it was as he didnt know at the time of order. That was why i agreed to it, thought i wouldnt get a better deal.

Hope things work out for me just like you. i already have friends raging me about giving them rides...

List price meaning MSRP? If so, just tell your dealer you really want to go through them but you feel very uncomfortable about this order and a copy of the DORA would put you at ease. Don't have to tell them you want to track the order to make sure they even did it. But I would get that DORA if you want to see your car as soon as possible. I assume you have a refundable deposit down with them? If so, and you can afford it, put another refundable deposit down with someone else. And then see who comes through first.

 

Without a VOC or DORA you have no way of knowing your car was ordered correctly - or at all. They could have given you a VOC the day you ordered the car, and a DORA within a few days of that. Some dealers won't release the DORA because of the invoice pricing inforrmation on them.

Did you get a copy of a buyer order signed by you and them?

Deposit or no deposit?

Without any of these things, it will be impossible to guess your status. I cannot imagine why they would not bother to order your car and put you through all this. But if you do not like the service you are receiving, definitely go elsewhere.

I had my VOC when I left the dealership on 6/11, DORA in a week (they misplaced it), I'm serialized now, and have a build date of 8/8.

They should be able to tell you something just from their weekly sales status sheets. Your order should be on there, with a priority #, and the latest status of your order. Even if your status is only "clean/unscheduled" that means your order is submitted and OK with Ford(though it would not tell you if it was submitted correctly, according to your specific requests).
Your priority # would tell you how important they consider your order to be, and give you a very rough idea of how long a wait you have. That is also dependent on their allocation and a lot of other things too.

 

Not all dealers offer a VOC or DORA nor do most customers ask for them [not all are as informed as the TMS members]. A VOC is usually printed off by the dealer when he places the order and her receives a DORA within 1-2 working days, period.
I would wonder if he is hedging on giving you a copy if you ask him.

I appreciate all your guys help - this is great! Wish getting my '06 was as nice as this...

I got a signed confirmation that they were going to place the order two days after i put $500 down on the car. Nothing else since other than "I'll check and get back to you."

 

The other thing is, that the dealer should get a status report every week for all of the cars they ordered, and your name should be next to your order!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say if you can not get the D.O.R.A go somewhere else. Bevidiere Ford in Belvidere was realy good to me, every week they gave me a copy of the status of my car. eace:

 

I DID IT!!! I went and threatened the dealer with pulling my order again if i didnt get answers right now. They provided me with a solid price, not just "List $" and an estimated ship date of 08/15/05!!!! But the best thing!!! I have my VIN # now!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for all you guys helping me... Soon i will be on the road once again a member of the stang owners!!!
