The TPMS Sensors can be turned off via the Rocker Switch on the Infamous Little Black Box. The one the Cops look at after a Hairy Accident to see how fast you were going. Unfortunetly I am Sworn to Secrecy as to its location under penalty of prosecution. Please see avatar for possible consequences of disabling TPMS!

Here are some Shop Manual PDF's Which may be Helpful!

But not to remove all the sensors, go figure.
Please tell us how, we will not tell anyone. I thought that they were not mandortoried till 08 and Ford put them in anyways.

Personally I think tpms is pretty idotic if you are smart enough to know how to tie your shoes.
Do you mean if we were to turn it off our tires would suddenly blow up unlike the tens of billions of non TPMS tires before it because a tire went low and we would have no idea without it??

man, I've been googlin' the heck outta this event data recorder thing for the last couple of minutes, only found -http://autos.aol.com/article/general...23203209990001 - guess I'll have to tell my mechanic to look for a little black box w/ a rocker switch on it when I go for a oil change or something....this tpms has been keeping me on the fence about getting new wheels down the road.....
I check my pressure once a week with my Michelin digital gauge... - pfft, gov't - way to make the american public alittle lazier

It does report low tire conditions nearly instantly. I know from experience, as the dashboard alert was my sign that I did actually run over something that pierced the tire. I hadn't felt the difference yet when driving at highway speeds till later when I was already looking to pull over and check. Got out, heard the hissing from the right rear tire, and started to unpack the spare.
I wouldn't be opposed to the system if they were something that didn't cost anything to transfer to the new tire, like a valve stem cap. But since they are bands, any way to disable the system would be great.
My 07 already has TPMS . I got it in Jan 07....Now I have to reset the warning light everytime I restart the car because of the 20's on it.
"We dont need no stinking TPMS!" Apparently Ford is now offering 19 and 20 wheel rings to mount them if desired.(about $200) I wont do it.

The 3M would prob keep it on there, but I don't know if the sensors would be reusable.
Tomorrow I have to drive from Tampa to Orlando to get new bands. Discount Tire (None in Tampa) was the only place I could find bands other than Ford dealers who wanted $200-$300 for them. I don't think Discount has a set price for them, because one Orlando store wanted $100 another $45. The good thing is these are reusable, and they can be used on 17" -20" tires.

I was talking to a member today about the TPMS and Realized Why they Got away from the Valvestem Type. Anybody ever try to Reuse a Valvestem. Most times you rip it while removing it. It would be a Safety Isuue reusing the Sensor from one wheel to another!

Exactly every time a tire is changed or I think t that valve stem you must redo the stem either the new o-ring kit ? correct ? and tire guys say it's a royal pain to do them.

oh, well, alrighty then....still thumbs down from me...
