These look like banded TPMS. I have not seen anything from Ford on this yet. Is their anything you could get me to help us. I will contact Corp Ford also to get info. We have three sets of prototype wheels on mustangs at ford right now. Let me know if you can help and I'll post something if I can help others. Thanks for anything Kevin

I'm actually glad it got bumped. I just added 18" wheels to my previously placed '07 order. My dealer said he could swap out a set from an '06 on the lot if the change didn't make it on the order. Now I realize that I can't do that because I'd have to guess that the '06 wouldn't have the TPM sensors, and that the 17" stock wheel sensors wouldn't fit on the 18" wheels.

Your order can be changed usually up until you have a VIN #. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Also I'm surprised Ford went with this type of system. Most the manufacturers that have been using them use the valve stem type.
I can see hundreds of these band types getting busted by the 18 yr old Tire buster while breaking down a tire for removal, mark my words, and when Kevin needs to keep 20+ in stock all the time you'll see, lol.

The 05/06 were suppose to have them, but there was a court battle over a safe guideline on how soon and how much pressure has to be lost before driver is notified.

i am sure you will be able to disable this crap if you go to a tuner who knows what they are doing, like mustang magic. man am i glad i got an 05, i dont want any of this extra crap, like heated seats, if i did i would have bought a g35 or some other riceburner toilet.

The Sensors are all the Same. It is a Matter of Changing the Bands which will be available in different sizes. As far as Bumping an old Topic TMS is always getting new people which are not aware of some of my old topics which may be helpful or of interest.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!
I am Getting Reports of Dealers putting wheels on Mustangs without using the TPMS Sensors. Customer Takes Delivery of car and 30 Miles doen the Road the Light comes on. Be aware if you change wheels on an 07 to make sure they are TPMS Compatible!

I made sure to badger my salesman so he made sure the TMPS got moved from the 17" bullits to the fanblades when they switched them out, and when I got the new 255/45's installed I saw the monitors on all 4 wheels. Forgot that the low pressure light comes on when you change tires, had to pull out the manual right after driving away from the shop.

Ford does not have available the 20" Straps for tpms at this time. If you have a 20" wheel you are wanting to put on your 07 you will not be able to install the TPMS SENSOR. Also As Per the FORD Instructions ,the Cradle is not supposed to be Reused which comes with the strap kit. So if you Were Changing from one style to another with 18"s you would need a Strap kit. These are available but on back order at the moment. I have made FORD Aware of my concerns regarding Strap availability for the Mustang and F150 Issues as well. No 22" Straps Available either. Hopefully they will resolve supply issues quickly.
