Too late to S/C?

I have an automatic 2005 Mustang GT with about 25,000 miles on it, is it too late to supercharge it?

As long as you're car has been maintained properly, I'd say it wouldn't be a problem. 25k miles is still pretty low.

I agree. I do not think it is too late for you to get an SC!

What does mileage have to do with a supercharger?

Dude, you have no worries blowing your car. Go to any other board, there are guys with darn near 100k miles doing it. My car has 25k and I am getting ready to throw a Turbo on it.

Just make sure you have a good tune and you'll be golden.

I would recommend you do some research on this board or others and find out exactly what you want and what the risks and limitations are.

As for mileage I don't think it really matters. If you were looking to do a build on your motor before you put a blower on there then yeah it will make a difference but other than that I don't know of any differences regarding mileage.

The risk is the same is what I'm trying to say.

Thanks everyone, I was looking at the Saleen S/C, because I believe it doesnt void the warranty if installed by a Ford dealer correct?

Luckydog the only supercharger that I know of that does not void the Ford warranty is the Roush.

You must have the Roush installed by a Roush certified installer... (usually a Ford dealership that sells Roush).

You do get a year warranty from Saleen but if you are really concerned with warranty go with a Roush.

The Roush has the least power of all the superchargers so you will pay a lot more for much less power but you will retain the factory warranty.

Personally I try to avoid, at all costs, taking my car to the dealership for any warranty work because in the last fifteen years of owning a Ford it has ALWAYS been a nightmare so for me personally I could care less... but to each his own.

That thing is already a beast! Thats gonna be mean. But a supercharger can work fine on any engine. As long as its been maintained well.

that is false. ANY supercharger voids the ford warranty. the only thing roush does for you is they pick up the remaining 3 year 36k mile warranty that ford will no longer cover. so if oyu have 25k miles you would only have 10k left with a roush. not to mention the rosuh is expensive for the pwoer you get. your much better off with a whipple.

Mmkay but isn't it the same thing... so "Ford" doesn't cover you but "Roush" does which means you will still be taking your car to a Ford dealership for warranty work.

The point is if he's worried about voiding his warranty the only SC that will keep him in warranty is a Roush.

Semantics...
