put 10k down $278 per month.

Funny thing is last year I paid $2,400 for auto ins. on a 2000 ford escort. Now, (turned 25 in august) I pay $1,400 annually on a 05 GT. What a great feeling. Now I just got to keep it that way.

Try being 22 and buying one loaded. This is my first brand new car. My payments should be around 520 a month and insurance 1400 a year (clean record thankfully). Good think I got a greatjob right out of college. oh well. evertytime someone stares will be like money in the pocket.

Obviously you all know that she came home WAY quicker than expected due to the death of the bronco. That means a refinance is in my future.

To be honest- I am tired of the ......When I drive her out and stop somewhere. Its starting to drive me nuts,I don't mind stares, ambushes make me nervous. Oh and from our friends and some family too. Its only a car, its not something mythical.......

Yesterday I needed to go out and get movies(wanted to see the manchurian candidate and some others) so we load in the car and drive off to the movie gallery......

A couple is coming out, they saw the butt end of her- simply the butt end- no front end cause she was parked between a couple of cars.......We caused a domestic disturbance. Man shouts to my husband- SIRRRRRRRR, Is that one of them cobras?(No way he saw my fake snakes) hubby says- Nope, other man shoves his wife, says HA TOLD YOU SO. Meanwhile my husband had to hold me back- A) for second man assuming my husband had all the answers, and B) because he was being a jerk to his own wife.

At the store, a little kid admired it while I was in, and got sticky lollipop laden handprints all over my hood.

I went to go get groceries yesterday and a woman with a car just like yours (but not as clean of course) pulled in right before me. She was "in" the store and a guy asked her how she liked her new car, he followed her in. That would bother me if I was in her shoes.

I don't mind if I am not alone.....
But when alone and strange men approach me, makes me a hair nervous. They can go to the dealer I bought her from and stare all they want to.

give your kids their allowance, then charge THEM for rides.
How exactly is that earning money? Isn't that breaking even?

I pay $550/month, including insurance..

You all are pretty funny about the mortgage payment... mine was $3000/month, NOT including property taxes, HOA, HOI, etc. We sold, and are now renting, paying $2200/month. I would KILL to be able to pay $1500, give up a child to pay $500/month in rent.

Agreed! My NorCal mortgage is $2,800/month, excluding taxes, and we're looking to sell to upgrade to a "decent" size house (2,000 square feet or so). We're looking at about $4,500 month!

Probably seems crazy compared to other parts of the country, but then again, my house, and my condo that I rent out have each appreciated over $100k in the past year and a half, so I guess there's some updside...

Now I just need to pay off the boat, so we can get a new 'Stang!

Ain't it great how males "magically" become responsible when they turn 25? Gotta luv insurance. <_<

I'm sure all the California folks salaries are adjusted for their higher cost of living (I hope).

$530 w/out insurance for me. GT loaded. No shaker 1000 or upgraded alarm.

Yea I'm looking at a $500/month payment also. I'm hoping it's more toward $500 than $600 though. I still haven't figured out how I'm gonna do this but I will......somehow
Yikes..... That's a mortgage payment. I'm glad I'm waiting for my title to arrive instead of a payment book..... [/b][/quote]
A Mortgage payment?

Wow...you can't get a house here in SoCal for less than $500k. An apartment, but no house.

daaaaaang, my 1800 sq ft house 4bd 3ba, tiny backyard just sold for $609k. We bought for $300.

To be honest, NO the salaries DONT compensate. In fact, currently we have the largest gap in a long time between cost of living and income. Its why we sold our house, we had to use what equity was left after refinancing three times to pay off bills.

I can go to other counties and get a nice big house for a lot cheaper, TONS cheaper, but hubby cant get work many places...

Anyway, I was pretty happy my insurance went down. I am only paying $1000/year for my GT. Which is good, cuz I am paying up to $2.79/gal for gas!

nice Jessica, I just bought mine in So Cal 1150sq ft $477K just under a year ago now its worth $535K wish I could have bought when you bought your home (maybe what 4 or 5 years ago)...

So Cal stinks... I am staying just long enough to crank out some extra profit on my property then its on to Idaho ??? Texas ??? Arizona ??? not sure..

stinks to pay over $2K a month and another $5,700 at tax time for property taxes.

p.s. IF you are planning on buying a V6 with little or no money down expect to pay around $300- $350 per month (on a 6 year buy) plus insurance.
