Ticking and rough idle after changing plugs?

Ok, changed out the plugs and wires in 2007 Mustang and now it has a rough idle and ticking. I am learning this car as I go so any advice with anything will be much appreciated.

2007... wires? o.0

Is the V6 still using coil packs and wires, and not coil on plugs? *googles* Yes... how strange. Well, in that case:

Ensure the gap was right for every plug before installation.

Check the wires for continuous, smooth external jacket from end to end. I got one with a **SPLICE**, a *Motorcraft* one no less, and that caused a coil pack on my Mark VIII to go out a few whiles back.

You *are* using the Motorcraft plugs and wires, right? Right? Unless you're modding, OEM direct replacement is always best.

Also, coil packs could be gone. Only way to see is get another one/set.

And of course, any loose wires?

And have you cleaned your throttle body? Might could be that...

Battery ok?

The ticking may be normal, as the lifters and such do make noise.

Hope that helps!

Seen this happen alot, make sure all the plugs are tightened down. And like Houtex said, check wires and gap.

Plugs lately are coming in cracked new. I had to do a couple sets of plugs to get an issue resolved (luckily on a 4 cylinder). I thought it was electrical and chased it a bunch only to find out I had a cracked plug (hairline and non-visible to my naked eye).
