Throwing codes

Alright I am running bama tunes headers, cai and high flow cats I ran this tune all winter with out issues. I ran two doses of injector cleaner over two tanks of gas, I cleaned the MAF sensor. Recently my check engine light came on and the code is p2198 I already replaced the o2 sensor, so I guessing it has to be something else. I cleared the codes and they came back after 100 miles or so. The car seems to be running very good soooooooo what can my problem be other than I never recieved the american muscle calendar AMDan said he was going to send me????????

Sorry to hear you're having troubles with the Mustang! The P2198 is an O2 sensor stuck on rich, but they're obviously not bad since you just bought replacements.

One thing that comes to mind is a failed injector. Rarely, injectors will get stuck open. So they're constantly spraying more fuel than commanded. Thus, causing a stuck on rich code. I see you've ran injector cleaner through a few tanks, but that cleaner isn't full proof. I've seen several cases where the cleaner wasn't enough to get the injectors unclogged.

Also, if you're interested in an AM Calendar, follow this link! One the Calendar Product Page, call the number listed by the description and I'm sure one of our guys will hook you up for free!

First off, sorry for the delayed response! I came down with a bad sickness last Wednesday and today is my first day back.

Faulty injectors are difficult to identify. You can start by seeing which bank of O2 sensor is attempting to cut the most fuel. That will show you the bank that has a injector stuck. From there, it gets tricky. You can try pulling the one spark plug wire at a time and see what the difference is engine behavior is. If a cylinder is flooded with fuel, chance are the spark is not catching or at least not catching well.

Calendar- Both Dan and I have been crazy busy lately, with the warm weather showing up. It sounds like he might have forgotten to send one out to you. Your best bet is to call the number in the link I listed above and they'll send you out another Calendar for free!

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

As I mentioned above, follow the link I listed in my previous post. There's a phone number on that product page that will get you in contact with the right guys. They'll gladly hook you up with another Calendar if yours got lost in the mail!

Shane

You can do a compression test. If one of your cylinders is seriously low then you've found your wide open injector - if that's the problem, that is.
