Well...

I finally got a straight answer from my dealer and the car would probably never be built. So I took a 4 hour trip to Columbus Ohio and bought one off the lot at Ricart Ford. Supposedly they are the largest car dealership in the world. Anyway, they had 11 GT's in stock and 10 of them were 5 speeds. As soon as I get some time I'll post some pics.

Good luck to all those still waiting. I just couldn't take it anymore.

Good move Ryan. I think more people who are waiting should do exactly this. If you've waited over 10 weeks, start your search. They are out there. People are getting cars after about 7 weeks in many cases. If you've waited 10+ weeks and have no clue what's up, you should start looking.

I have to tell you, this is one of the finest automobiles I have ever driven!!! A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I talked to a fella named Kevin Brownlee (SP??) who is a salesman at Ricart. Well, he called me last Friday and told me that one just like I had ordered from another dealership was being unloaded from the truck that day, so I went down on Saturday and drove it home!!

I have never in my life seen a dealership this big!! It had a guard booth when you enter and they give you a map with all the different buildings. The craziest part of it is that the on the dealership lot there are even stop lights at all the intersections and street names! Wild!! Anyway, this guy really took care of me and called me the minute the car I was looking for came in.

Also, they had a Ford GT in the showroom which was crazy cool.

I hope that all of you get your mustangs, but if you get tired of waiting I would give these guys a call. I got top notch service and zero run around.

That's is what happens when you pick a bad dealership and let them push you around.

Congrats on your ride!

Ricart's car lot is huge there probably right saying there the largest, after I bought my 05 from another dealer in columbus I checked out Ricarts Inventory they had over 25 of both models in stock  this was back in November.

The dealer I bought from only had 2 05's 1 v6, 1 GT.

please post pics when you can.

I called my dealer today, it's only been 4 weeks. I just wanted to check the status. He said it has a partial VIN and will be built, it's just a matter of waiting in line he said. At least I won't have to worry about it coming on rail, my dealer is 3 miles from the factory.

They all have a partial VIN, it's on the DORA when you place the order. That alone does not mean much. The way the process has gone for some folks, maybe they will give your car a train ride just to be consistent! Since you are that close, will they let you in to watch it being built? Good luck!
