I came across this on Stangsunleashed.com. Not extremely exciting, but for some people, it will be.

**EDIT: Meant the title to say "stampede" obviously. Not stampeded. Why can't we edit thread titles? **

Edited it for you and for some reason I am pretty sure you can edit the topic when you edit the original post.

Thanks for editing that for me. When I clicked "full edit", there was no access to the thread title or subtitle for me for some reason. Maybe it was just a fluke thing.

Bah. I guess it'll move the cars, but it seems awfully silly in the whole scheme of things.

This probably comes from some Joe Redneck (I'm allowed -- I live in Oklahoma) saying, "They has a California Special, how 'bout a TEXAS special?" And Ford consquently dressed up a V6 with a Pony Package, stripes, and badging. And it'll probably cost as much as a GT, which makes me say "Why??"

At this rate they'll have Gulf Coast Edition Mustangs using all of the ones damaged during the hurricanes. Each one comes complete with flood damage and one inch of water on the floor.

I read about this car the other day...all I can say is

The stripe job is even a poor one. With the quality and effort put into this, I would not be surprised to the learn the "badging" is crayon on paper or something...

OH well....I guess it will sell...We must understand that some mustang owners arent as "hopped up" about mustangs as we are....they just see the car. like, and buy it. Thats that.....I just that wasnt true

Sounds very similar to the High Country Special offered in the 60's for people in Colorado.

Well, if it's true, it will be unique for this if nothing else. IINM, MyColorâ„¢ has been removed from the IUP option for the 2007 MY.

Won't be a true Texas Special unless a set of Texas Longhorn's are on the hood (Sorry the devil made me say that). Just my personal thoughts but I wish they spend all this time and money getting a Boss SE ready to go

That's exactly what I was going to say! Ford is famous for these tape stripe SE's; The california special in 1968, high country special in 1968, the twister special in 1970...shall I go on.

Pretty weak effort, although there will be a few who want that unique Mustang. This will be one. Who knows what 20 years will bring...

Gulf Coast Auto Park has a black w/silver stripes stampede on the lot. I noticed it while walking the lot having an oil change. I gasped and then got ticked-I have a GT that could be it's bigger twin!(mine has red interior though) Looks like I won't be the coolest Stang in town anymore, well, not at first glance anyway! Nice car though.

They also have a Ford GT on the show room floor, it's black. Almost cried when I noticed it was covered in dust!
