Guess its a matter of perspective.

I thinkt he 17" Pirellis handle well. But maybe thats cuz I started with 16" BFGs.

BFG KDW are crap.

I went through 2 complete sets on my 99 Stang. I buy new tires every summer. Usually 2 at a time.

One day I decided to try some cheapo Summitomo (Ecsta) tires.
What a difference. The treadwear on them is twice a long, in fact all the tire ratings were way better. These were pure summer tires. They are excellent in wet and dry.

I had a Vortech supercharger. With the BFGs, the tire would slip of the line line all the time. But the SUmmitomos...i could hardly spin them. The grip was amazing.

I also had Pirellis. I would say they they are the same as the Sumitomos in term of performance.

Plus the Japanese tires were nearly half the price of the BFGs.

After comparing the BFGs to Pirelli and Summitomo.
I will never buy BFGs again.

The Pirellis are OK, but I want to go to 18"wheels, so as soon as I can make up my mind on replacements, I'll make the switch.

I think the Pirelli's perform OK, but look like the belong on an Accord. Looking to go with some 255/50's.

The pirellis arent great. Gotta be kinda careful in the rain, and very easy to break loose. Switched to a 19' Bridgstone S-03, much better tire, hard to break loose in the rain.

Also, the pirellis are pretty useless in snow, im not gonna try the Bridgestones

I am VERY impressed with the KDW2's so far. The grip is exceptional and the stiff sidewalls with 18's vastly improves handling. The car just sticks to the ground. I want to see how these do with tire wear as it is a softer tire. But I love the look of the tread pattern

I, too, am pleased with the 18" BFGs.
Nice grip on dry, and surprisingly grippy on wet. The car hugs the road nicely.
Interested to see how they hold up in the snow this year.

I have the 17" Pirellis too, and I'm going to swap them before winter comes. They lose grip instantly in the wet, with the slighest acceleration. They definitely can't handle the car's torque. :notnice:
