I wasn't really a fan of the stock tires. They were OK in both wet and dry, but are basically "middle-of-the-road" all-season tires. They were also extremely easy to "squeal" during even normal turns.
From a wet/dry traction perspective though, they performed fine.

I'm a fan of the Pirelli's on mine. But I was wondering what kind of wheels are put on all the Mustangs. Do they all come with Pirelli's or do the different trims come with different tires?

I have the stock 17" tires, and they work out just fine. They are a great compromise for all different types of driving conditions. They work well in the rain, and even have some grip in light snow. Of course I would like something larger and wider, but it is hard to come up with the $$ after buying the car.

My 18's are the BFGoodrich G-Force KDWS. They seem to do very well in the rain for the amount of power these cars have.
Coincidentally, these are the exact same tires I had been using on my 2000 Mustang GT. The 2000 came with GoodYear Gatorbacks, and they were noisy, so-so in the rain and poor in snow. I had done a lot of research a while back and chose the BF Goodrich as they seemed to be about the best for ride quality, good wet traction and was one of just a very few tires that would fit the Mustang that were rated for snow.
I was very glad to see that they were standard equipment on the new 18" rims. Had they not been, I would have probably switched to them after I wore out the factory set.
I don't know that they are the best tires out there, but considering they are not too expensive, I think they are hard to beat for how well they handle dry or wet.

16" BFG 17" = Pirelli 18" = BFG
18" BFG's are noisy, almost would think I got 4 bad wheel bearings.
The ride is fine, grip is decent.
Anyone want to buy mine 100 a piece, lol 500 miles on them.

I didn't like the "minivan" look of the stock tires. I sold mine for $250.00 and
bought 255/50/17 Fuzion ZRi's. I think they have a more retro, beefy look to them. They also have a UTOG rating of 320 which should translate to long tire life. They were also on sale for $99.00 and I couldn't say no.

This is my 3rd Mustang and I have never hydroplaned before (unless it was a deep puddle). I have already hydroplane twice with these Pirellis. They suck in the dry, ok in the wet as long as there isn't much water and they probably suck in the snow. I'm going to change them for summer when they wear out but I live in Canada and there is no way I'm going to use these during winter.
A 4 season is a compromise. I had some Kumho's MX on my last Stang and they were great in the dry & the wet. Now if they could only have them in 255/50/17s
Hopefully, they will have them when I'm be ready to change them in about 1½ year :worship:
