Dead-damned, absolutely factory-delivered, 100% Grade A......STOCK.

Bought the car.....drove about 300 miles to break it in how I wanted....changed the oil & filter.....drove to the track. When I got the timeslip I about fell over. My jaw bounced off the fender!!! I will have to give some credit to good air and temperature but also credit goes to Ford and Team Mustang Brand Division.

I love this car. Can't wait to install the 4.10's and M/T drag radials.

Slowest of the day was a 13.34/101.88. darn thing is fast!!!!

Timeslip is at the shop in the logbook. 60' I do remember though......1.86. Like I said.....I was stunned. Made 5 runs and all were from 13.25 to 13.34. All were 101 except for the one pass of 102.04. All of the 60' times were from 1.86 to 1.90. When this thing shifts it sounds like a five speed car. Gear spacing in the new 5 speed auto is very close. RPM drop is only about 1000 rpm.

Edit: I see someone beat me to it by a few minutes in the other section...

If this is true, it is more validation that the 5spd Auto is possibly quicker to 1320 than the 5spd Manual.

Just a quick question... since there is so much difference in one person's horsepower to the next, how easy is it to get your own car dyno'ed? How do you go about finding a shop with a dyno, and does anyone know how much it would cost to have it done? Anyone have any experience with getting their own car on a dyno?

Sorry about the double post, but Stinger... I also have an automatic. My previous Mustangs were all sticks, but my wife will be driving this car about 25% of the time, and she insisted on an auto. Since you obviously have the best time with an auto as of yet, what can you tell me on how you got your best times driving the auto? Did you slam the accelerator to the floor, or do you ease into it more... maybe letting up a bit before shifts to help it shift smoother?

as far as the Dyno question goes, acadian... you can get a chassis dyno with a tune for about $100... at least around here. you should be able to ring 35 more horse power out of her, just by tuning and reflashing the EEC. ...... so it's been said.

When you say, "with a tune"... I take it you mean tuning the chip? And where would you get that done? A specialty shop?

Pretty low mph for that E.T. you have but judging from your 60' it looks like you had some mean traction. When you get the chance, please post the slip.

I know you said the dyno and tune for $100 but how much for reflashing the EEC? Any drawbacks? Does that void the warranty then?

Haha...it's not my car man...I just posted it in the tech and performance section a few minutes after it was posted in this section...

That's not at all a low ET for the MPH considering the 60' time...my SVO ran low 13's at 102-103 on slicks...with the same 60' time (1.7-1.8). I couldn't get better than a 14.08 on street tires (2.2 60') spinning into 3rd gear.

The auto's tall 4th gear cripples trap speeds a little. A set of 3.90s would take care of that.
