I considered that but the GT's in the area are not exactly how I want mine to be, so I will suffer for the exact car I want. I plan on having it for awhile and I know even the wrong color interior would bug me after a year or two. Good luck on finding the one you want.

Sitting in my driveway right now is a black Mustang GT with IUP incl. mycolor, red leather interior, spoiler (bah!), shaker 1000, dual side airbags, and anti-theft. It was more than I had on order with the original dealership, but atleast it's mine now. I gotta go play some.

To those still waiting, hold on. I was waiting since 9/27... Just pester them, call the president of customer relations, whatever... You'll get it and be the happiest person in the world.

 

I ordered 12/30, just got word it would be built the week of April 4th.

This sux so bad.

I ordered on 1/25 and everytime I call the 800 number the computer lady says, "sorry, no status information found.." I'd love to know if my dealer even put my order in! Although, I did go back about a week later and changed the exterior color so maybe the order # changed.. I hope that's why I get no info!! I'm going to pay him a visit tomorrow and see what the news is anyhow. Good luck to all waiting... I'm starting to lose my mind with all I'm starting to see on the road!!!

Yep, checked this AM, still C / U since 12/16/04. Man, someone who ordered in September and just got theirs? Sounds just like my order, sans the Anti-theft. I'm beginning to think as rare as it is to see an '05 GT, maybe I should have an alarm system... when it gets here! (if?)

What a pain for you guys!

Back when I ordered mine in July, I thought that I'd have the long wait. It turned out to be just under 3.5 months.

I feel for you all. I had the jones so bad for those 3 months....

 

I agree the wait was killing me too. As soon as I saw the concept car then the pre production cars, That's all it took for me to make up my mind. Then I realized "Holy Cow" This car is awesome and just went in last summer and ordered one sight unseen. I knew there would be a rush to get one and thanks to Brad and this site, I felt very comfortable ordering last summer.
I really think the dealers are between a rock and a hard place with the demand for these cars. Some dealers are just in a better spot to get one built quicker than others, but it would be nice if more of them would just be upfront with all you guys!

 

I am giving it two more weeks before I cancel. Can't see myself taking delivery and paying full price for an '05 when it will be one model year old a month after getting it. So, I am left with: Do I buy an '06? Do I pick up a 3-4 year old 330Ci vert? I really don't know. I am tired of waiting and more than a little pissed that Ford has made it this difficult for me to buy THEIR product. So, basically I have no idea. Any suggestions on other comparable four-seat verts? Please no comment on how great the mustang is, blah blah blah. I believe you. It has nothing to do with me not liking the mustang. It has to do with me beginning to hate Ford.
