Spoke to Dealer Today

It would be nice to have the customer come first and not the dealerships. I think Ford forgets that the orders setting in line for build dates are sold orders, we should be first. The dealers are sometimes not acting in the best interest of the customers or Ford and need to be held to the high standards of the Ford Company. This is my 12th week still c/u

I agree with almost everything that has been posted on here. I am sitting at 4 months since my order (17 weeks) and still don't even have a VIN. My dealership may be one of those shady ones. I may be C/U, but somehow they have an '05 convertible on their showroom floor. Interesting, isn't it?

What an insult!!! This is pure blasphemy!!!
What could possibly make you think I would take such an unethical approach?

The system that Ford has set-up isn't working for the customer. When I ordered my car it should be first be for the dealer stock orders. The dealer is making the sold orders wait because they are sold and can't jack up the price. So we wait.
Come on Ford you need to get your house in order.

The following is email correspondence I had with my dealer yesterday concerning this topic. I liked his answer. At least in this Region, they are putting customer orders before stock!
Hi Ted,
I was curious if anything came out of the Regional Rep meeting concerning allocations?
Also, have you heard anything about Ford calling the Dealerships to get contact info for people who have special ordered an 05 Mustang? Rumor has it, they believe there are lots of bogus orders in the system due to guys going to multiple Dealers and ordering, then taking whichever car comes in first. To remedy this, they are going to call everyone to confirm their order.
Thanks!
Tom
Hi Tom,
I believe the meeting was not until March, so nothing new from Dealer Council.
As far as Ford contacting the customer? I have not heard that one. My Rep did tell me that she will contact the dealership as they receive GT allocation and want proof of the order (valid purchase agreement) maybe she would call the customer at that time. If the dealer does not have a legit retail order they lose the allocation.
