By model year production #s, the 2005 Mustang comes in as only the 20th highest production model year.

The #s make sense since the 05 started production on Sept 7, 04, but Sept was a low production # month as they got the line up to speed. November 04 was the 1st month near full capacity. Production of the 05 MY stopped the 1st week of August, so in reality there were only 8 months at full production and 3 months at reduced production, so call it 9-1/2 months of equivalent full production. If that full production rate occured for a full 12 months it works out to almost 200,000. If demand remains strong Ford could build close to 200,000 06 MY Stangs.

 

Wow, nearly 1700 of mine out there. Well, at least the mods I'm going to get to eventually separate us.
