In attempt to stay ahead of potential problems I am trying to get a time line developed of when certain items can be expected. I am attempting to help my father who ordered a convertible GT about 3-4 weeks ago.

When should we exepect to get a "DORA"?
When should we be able to obtain a VIN?


Should he have a signed agreement at this point with the dealer? Not sure that he has anything signed. May just have an order form of some kind. (this thread kinda scares me a bit Link)

Anything else that we could be doing to help prevent potential issues?

We are a bit nervous because the salesman told him that the car may not be built because only a certain number of GTs would be built. I guess we know at this point........ that this is not true.

 

You should have gotten a signed buyers agreement listing EXACT selling price as well as any other additional charges at time of order. You should have received the DORA the following business day. You won't get a serial number until the order gets pulled for production, that a couple a couple of weeks or many months depending on a host of factors.
