My car is scheduled to be built this week. Checked with my friend the computer lady this morning and she said - "As of Feb 23, your vehicle has been released by the foreign assembly plant". Did Michigan declare it's independence yesterday and I missed it?

I assume that this is just another program glitch and that my car was not actually built by hand in Switzerland. Anyone else ever get this odd status? Confirmed it as an authentic status in the master list. Ford customer service only says that everthing looks fine and ETA is 5 - 12 March!

Getting close now I hope!

Maybe "T.C.L." thinks you are getting a Jaguar instead

Search this, it has been posted before.

Summary: It seems it's a place holder after the car is built but before it hits the convoy.

Mine said the exact same thing yesterday.

Today it says "Shipped convoy carrier on the 22nd"

Thanks guys. Sorry for the fat fingers, title should say "assembly". From your input it would seem to be just some temp code they use and nothing to be concerned about. Better go get that loan paperwork finalized. Thanks again.

May be AAI is considered a foreign assembly plant in the ordering system as it is partly owned by the Japanese. I believe AAI was a joint venture between Ford and Mazda from the start.

If I am not mistaken, part of the assembly plant grounds is considered a "foreign trade zone", at least from what the signs say. Based on GIZMOTOO's comment and this fact, it might be terminology that exists because of the Mazda influence.

I've learned over the last month that 99% of the answers I need are already on TMS, just got to look. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I heard they were putting the insurgent prisoners to work, guess that explains the delays!

NO, Michigan really did declare it's independence. Didn't you know we have a Canadian governor now? yep
