Slow acceleration off the line
Slow acceleration off the line
Hey guys.
I've read through numerous threads that talk about the drive-by-wire throttle hesitation and bucking issues with the S197, and I am experiencing issues that are similar, but not exactly like these.
I have an '06 manual GT with about 17K miles, and although I have not experienced the "engine shutoff" type of hesitation at WOT, I have noticed that my car seems to accelerate more slowly off the line than it used to.
Also, I've noticed that I have to rev my engine a lot more before engaging the clutch for a hard, fast takeoff.
I seem to remember that when I first got the car, I could almost pop the clutch with very little revving, and the car would just take off.
Because gas prices are killing me, I use 87 octane.
Could this be part of the problem?
Also, I have not checked my air filter...perhaps this needs to be replaced?
Has anyone else experienced these types of issues?
Are these issues characteristic of the known problems with the drive-by-wire throttle and/or fuel pump?
