Should i buy
I found a 2007 mustang gt with 180k miles for 5500. I already have a 05 gt. So I'm looking for a second car. The guy says miles are highway. And i assume they are because that's a lot of milage on a 2007. I was wondering how many miles you think I could get out of the stock engine. I have no problem with rebuilding the engine or dropping a new engine in it. I am just wondering if it's a good deal.

IMO, too many miles unless you can verify the maintenance history. If it truly is a one owner with no issues or serious needs, it might be worth a gamble, but you also could be looking at a potential 'money pit' with thousands in repairs in your future. Not only aggravating and expensive to own but the Mustang will still only be worth about $5,000 if you needed to sell and lucky enough to find a buyer.

New tires new breaks new battery within the last month. He is the first owner. He had a 5 hour drive to go see his girlfriend that he did 2 times a week. So that's why it has so many miles. I'm thinking that I will drive it until it does then it will become my project where I will pull the engine and put in a crate engine. Or I'd totally rebuild the engine and supercharge it. The car has one small door ding and that's it.

I haven't looked at prices... but what about just buying a manual transmission for yours?
Then you don't need another insurance payment or extra routine maintenance fees!
Or, instead of having two, sell yours and get a lower mileage manual?
At 180k miles, i'd start wondering just about general wear and tear. I'm sure it would be okay, but I'd always be wondering... belts, pumps, bearings, etc.
