They installed the new factory windshield (WITH the pony dot matrix logo at the center top) today, and I picked her up around 7:30 p.m.

is this standard? my v-6 deluxe has it.
[/b][/quote]

Yes, this is standard, but my original windshield had a stress crack upon delivery to the dealer, so they / Ford had to replace it.

It has rained a lot for the past 2 days, and no sign of a leak. Also, no sound of an air leak at 70 mph this morning on the way to work.

All is good now.

Right on!

On the skipping thing, try powering the unit off and then back on again, seems to work for me

Also mine NEVER skips on MP3 CD's
EVERYONE:

Giving credit where due, Tony's tip worked, at least so far. Since I powered the unit off and then back on again yesterday morning, it hasn't skipped once even with my home burned CDs.

Like Tony told me, the more our cars become computerized the more we need to treat them as such (i.e. reboot, restart, etc). And as he also said, if it goes beyond that I will then take it back. Stay tuned.

Thanks again, Tony / SixtySix.

Not from the factory, but through the dealer parts dept. out of the 2005 Mustang accessories brochure.

Salesman had them installed for me, no charge.

Drew: Yes indeed the LONG journey has ended. But, as you cautioned me earlier, not without a little problem known as rail dust.

My dealer assrued me that it is covered by the warranty, Ford will pay a guy to clay bar the car then buff/wax it for me.

I tried getting it out, but exhausted myself and didn't put a dent in the problem (no pun intended).

Thanks for alerting me to this before I took delivery this past week. I knew what to look for and took it in to discuss the problem Saturday afternoon. They will schedule the guy, then call me to tell me when to bring the car in.

Bobby--yes I am enjoying her more and more by the mile. But not without some distractions and setbacks. See my comments to Drew above about the rail dust problem b/c it was on a train so long.

Also, Sunday I have to get the right front tire checked out. We discovered this afternoon a nail in it. Hopefully the nail will not be too long and thus require that the tire be replaced. Stay tuned....

Well then Tony / SixtySix, I'd love to see you when you are really on top of your game !!

My Shaker is STILL performing flawlessly, ever since I took your advice and applied that technical fix to my skipping unit. You're an electronics wizard.

This is especially good because some folks posting to the other thread about the Shaker B say they continue to have Shaker problems, even with the new Seris B unit. Go figure.

Maybe Ford reprogrammed units installed in January, at least by my build date of January 12, 2005.

Anyway, thanks Tony. Don't overlook the obvious or simple solution.

Now, after having the cracked windshield replaced before delivery, and if I can get the rail dust and the tire with the nail in it corrected soon, I'll be in great shape.

The car is still awesome !!!

Looks just like the one I ordered last week. I am planning on the white Shelby stripes for mine. I like the no spoiler look on these cars.

Good news on the tire--the 3/4 inch long nail went diagonally into the heat of the tread and thus did not puncture the tire. I drove away happy within about 5 minutes.

All that's left to address is the rail dust; the dealer will call me to schedule this warranty work this week.

Meanwhile, the car is getting better and better.
