That's not exactly true. The round speakers with "the big boom box grilles" are subwoofers.

Above those, in the door panels are the tweeters and woofers. Ford cheats and counts those as two speakers. In other words, in the Shaker 500 and 1k systems, each door has two speakers, but Ford counts it as 3.

They do the same with our Lincoln LS and it's "12" speakers!

It's only cheating a little. That is a plate speaker and it does have it's own tweeter in it...

It's amazing how easy it is for large corporations to lie through their teeth.

meh.. i think it's reasonable to call the 0.75" tweeter and 4" woofer components "two" speakers. If they were concentrically mounted (dunno what the technical term is), I could see why people would want them to be called "one" speaker ("one two-way speaker").. but seeing as how there are two physically separated cones, I think "two" speakers is appropriate.

Potato, potato. Tomato, tomato.

I guess that doesn't work out so well in text.

That's why we engage the brain-gear and ignore the (evil) marketing department crap.

The part that amazes me the most is that most (not all) of these same people who have no problem lying through there teeth at work consider themselves "moral" people and wouldn't think about behaving like that in there personal lives.

It's so easy for these people to just check their morals at the door and do what ever they think will get them a bigger raise because it is the "company" doing it and not them.

Speaker, component...I'm not going to lose any sleep over marketing verbage. Especially since this sort of thing isn't out of the ordinary.
