Shaker 1000 Settings

A lot of you that have the Shaker 1000 have said that you can't tell much of a difference when you have the Shaker Setting "On" vs. "Off". I can't really tell that much of a difference either, especially the fact it's a convertible.

Tonight I was sitting in the car in the garage and loaded a Red Hot Chili Peppers disc. I started messing with the Shaker On and Off settings. I then went through a couple of different options, one of them showing "All Seats". I toggled through all of those and couldn't believe the sound when I hit the "Convertible" setting. It was like getting a CAI and a Bamachips tune. I could actually tell there were two subwoofers sitting in the trunk. It was honestly at the point where the subwoofers were overpowering.

Has anyone else noticed this setting and do the coupes with the Shaker 1000 have this setting also?? I can't imagine that Ford disables this for the coupes or even uses a different Shaker 1000 for coupes vs. verts.

I have mine set on "Drivers Seat". In my coupe, that seems to sound the best, and there is a significant difference when the shaker is off. My Shaker does not have a convertible option, I guess because it is a coupe. Hope that helps.

I do not have a convertible setting. But I also only have the 500.

But I still want a convertible setting! And a drink with a little umbrella in it!

I can't believe people are saying they have the 1000 and can't tell the difference with the Shaker subs on/off???

Either your bass setting is down too low or there is something wrong with your hearing.... mine rattles the decklid on heavy bass songs and that's with the bass only turned up 1/2 to 3/4s MAYBE....

Yea... I have the Shaker1000 in my Vert and I love the sound system, esp. with the Sirius Radio. The convertible mode makes it honestly feel like there are subs in the seats... they actually vibrate! Big difference between the 500 and the 1000.

Interesting! I have the Shaker 1000 and a convertible. BUT... to the best of my knowledge I have NEVER seen a "convertible" setting - only "driver" and "all" seats.

I'll check again after work today. I guess it really doesn't matter though... my Shaker 1000 isn't long for this world... As soon as my NAV gets here it's going in a cabinet in the garage!

Art J. Let me know how you like that Shaker1000 from KC... I am looking to buy one also. He should have programed it to work with the Shaker1000 and the Vert. from what I hear. Also how much was it from him? I have been trying to get a hold of him for some time now and no replys.

I'll let you know when I receive it! KC said it would take about 2 weeks to get, week #1 has elapsed.

Just doing the waiting game for now, full report when I get the goods!

I'll PM you the price, KC doesn't like his pricing to be posted on the board.

I just went in and did a thorough check on the Shaker 500 in a coupe. It seems that the REAR SEATS option gives the loudest bass without any effect on the front speakers. I couldn't detect a difference between ALL SEATS and DRIVER'S SEAT.

I'm leaving it on the REAR SEATS option.

In a Vert with a Shaker1000 the only options are "Drivers Seat, All Seats, and Convertible".... no rear seat option.

The coupe does not have this setting, its not a different radio for the coupe or convertible. Just different programming.

After seeing this post I checked mine and I do have the "Convertible" setting. It makes the bass seem deeper. It is a bit too deep for me, I prefer the "All Seats" mode. Cool we have options however.

I have an '06 Vert with the Shaker 1000 and just checked, no 'convertible' setting... Only 'Driver', 'All Seats' and 'Rear Seats'... But I agree, the 'Rear Seats' setting seems to have a little deeper bass output...

I have had mine set on 'All Seats' and have been happy with it, but I will try the 'Rear Seats' setting for a few days and see if I like it better...

I'm going to hazard a guess and suggest that the only difference between the 'rear seats' and 'convertible' output options, is the label.

Burke,

Bass is up to 3/4 level. Hearing is top notch also. It must be that alot of the bass on the '07 setup gets lost with the Vert. The first day I brought the car home last summer, I toggled between Shaker on and off and both my son and I thought the subs weren't working (in the All-Seats setting). When we opened the trunk we could tell the difference between on and off. It wasn't until I switched to the Convertible setting that it was night and day between for the Shaker setting.

I just checked - I do NOT have a "convertible" setting on my Shaker 1000. The three settings are "driver", "rear", and "all".

Most interesting.

I guess it doesn't really matter, my Shaker 1000 HU isn't long for this world... I just can't help but wonder though if I would have more bass than I am getting.
