Well, we know there isn't a SAT button on the head unit, but there is an AUX button. I have no clue beyond that, but I'm sure someone else does.

By the way, how does your bill come? Is it a monthly bill, or can you pay for 6 or 12 months beforehand? I want to get it, but don't know if I want to handle another bill. :notnice:

Mine is direct paid from my checking account. I think for the two of them its $16 or so. You can pay for a year at a time if you prefer.
$9.99 a month for the first, $6,99 for the second.

If you have an aux button, you hook a fm modulator through it on the back of the stereo then the modulator to the xm unit. The Roady 2 has a built in modulator. Roady and skyfi do not.

Is there a way to have satellite radio without having the antenna on the roof of the car? They look like shark fins on some of the cars I've seen.

I have XM in my truck and it is the best $10 i could have spent. If you spend anytime at all in your vehicle then try it out for sure.

The antenna can be placed on the dash inside the vehicle under most terrain conditions and it works fine. In the city around tall buildings, it might cut out on you.

You can hook it up a couple of ways to your radio. Use the cassette adapter or plug the output cable inline with your radio antenna at the back of your radio. Tune to any one of about 8 frequencies at the low end of the FM dial. Select one that is clear in your area. AM reception isn't real good with the inline hookup method, but I don't listen to AM much anymore.

PIE adapters. They have adapters for most OEM/Aftermarket radios.

Check this link out or google PIE adapters.

I had my XM antenna on the rear deck of my Honda with 5% tint and it worked fine. You have to be careful with certain types of tint because it can block the signal.

You get the best reception with the antenna on the roof....but it doesn't look that bad if you buy the xm micro antenna...it's really small...just a little over and inch long. You also don't have to use adhesive to attach which I think is bad for your paint...it's magnatized and has has little feet underneath to maximize ventilation. Check it out:

I don't know what the heck companies like audi are thinking with thier huge antennas....they are totally unnessary...

Looks like this installed. But since some people are nasty, look at this instead.

It is "unpleasant" looking because I half hineyed it. I knew this car was not living with me forever, and I wasn't sending my Sky fi to car hades with it.....NO offense meant, but taken anyhow. I don't appreciate it. Personal attacks are not funny to me, and I do take PLENTY of offense to it.

FYI I purchased a "stick on unit" because It comes out and goes into my house when I am done in the car. I already have a real XM in my other vehicle, and it does not come out. Second, Why am I going to spend four fortunes on a car stereo on a car I do not intend to keep for very long? It has no modulator on it, well............BECAUSE I was not buying a new stereo for that vehicle to get one.
Thanks again, "no offense meant" but you just made my day.
