When you drive the Mustang GT at 60MPH, at how many RPM is it going? 20 000?

 

If you can get it up to 20,000 RPMS, you may have bigger issues here...gas consumption being the least of them...

 

I test drove a 5spd GT on saturday, and checked out this very thing.
60 mph (100km/h) is about 1800.

110 km/h (Hair less than 70mph) is exactly 2000 rpm

 

Sounds about right to me.

 

what gear?
2nd gear @ 4000 rpm
3rd gear @ 3000 rpm
4th gear @ 2500 rpm
5th gear @ 1900 rpm

I haven' tried it in 1st but I really don't think it would redline by much.

 

60MPH is about 2100 RPM, but I have 4.10 gears and an Auto Tranny.

 

It hits the rev limiter. I wasn't paying attention and was gunning it down an acceleration ramp. All of a sudden, the engine ramps down. My only guess was it was the rev-limiter. I was not over 60mph yet.

 

GET THAT TOO THE TRACK!!! :shock: Thats what I want and need to know some times!

 

Whats your gas milage?

 

MPG Gains with 4.10 Gears:

With the new flash and my 4.10 gears I am able to get:

- @ 65 MPH (2200 RPM) at 24.5 MPG
- @ 80 MPH (2500 RPM) at 21.5 MPG
- City AVG of 30 MPH at 16.5 MPG

Now here's the question - in what gear do the tach and speedo needles roughly track each other angle-to-angle? Third? (usually the gear).

I tend to read my shift points by glancing at the needle positions rather than actually "reading" the gauges. Like to do that for HAT downshifts too.

 

Theres a speedo on the car??
