Recommended Dealers for Service?
Recommended Dealers for Service?
Anybody have a recommendation on a service department at a dealership in SE Michigan? I live in Garden City, MI and work in Sterling Heights, MI, so I'm looking somewhere near/between those two.
I took my '08 (still under factory warranty w/ 22k miles) to North Brothers Ford about a month ago for a variety of warranty items (window molding issue, bearings in rear axle making a constant hum, and a couple other things). They had it from Monday to Thursday (!!), "fixed" the window issue, and "didn't have enough time" for the axle.
Whatever.
Then my rear end started making a whining noise 2 weeks ago and just progressively started getting worse. I took it in this past Monday morning and they gave me a rental car for "customer loyalty" so I could get to work (also saying it'd could take a couple days...ok). They call me on Wednesday to tell me that they "looked at it and some parts need to be ordered" and that they're not sure if they could have it done by Friday. Friday comes along, car's ready for pickup, I get it and drive it around. The whine seems to be gone but the hum I had hasn't changed at all.
Then comes today. I drove out to my dad's house about 45 miles away...and the whine returns. It's a touch better but still annoying, mostly 35-55 mph. I could feel my blood boiling because it took them 3 days to just open the **** thing and 2 to "fix" it and it was all just a waste. I'm going to call them on Monday to see what they have to say about it, but I'd rather take it somewhere where they actually care and don't take all of my time.

So, back to my question, anybody have recommendations on dealership service departments in SE Michigan?

I have had very good service at Roy Obrien Ford 9 Mile and Mack in St. Clair Shores. They have a couple of Techs, Larry Reno and Jeff that really know their stuff on Mustangs.
Eric in parts is very knowledgeable with FRPP parts.
If your looking for work performed outside a dealer it's hard to beat Alternative Auto in Chesterfield Twp.
