tyvm. let me know if you find anything. i'll look too and see what i can dig up.
i'd really like to have that as well, if it is priced w/in reason.
here is the lojack homepage:
lojack.com
i was looking for pricing, but didn't find it. it did spell out that the features of lojack, including starter disabler, incline sensor, etc... and that, for the most part, sounds like the existing alarm. does anyone know how these work together?

Personally, I want this system that is being trialled here at the moment :
Manchester Evening News 29/6/04
A NEW mobile "rat trap" is being introduced by police to catch car thieves in the act, locking them inside the vehicle as it speeds along.
A specially-adapted car has been fitted with satellite tracking and audio-visual monitoring equipment. But the big shock for thieves is that it can be remotely immobilised, braked and locked.
Anyone who tries to steal it will be captured inside - and instantly surrounded by police
To make the evidence ultra secure, everything a thief says or does from the moment of entering the car will be recorded on video.
Chief Insp Pat McKelvey, who helps run the system, said: "We hope this hi-tech equipment will send out a clear message to potential car thieves that we are determined to catch them and put a stop to this type of crime.
"The car kit will be used in a variety of different vehicles so thieves will never be sure if the car they are breaking into is a decoy vehicle or not."
The system, launched in Bolton, has been bought in a partnership between police, the fire service and the council. If successful it could be adapted across Greater Manchester.
If they do drive away, they can be tracked on a lap-top computer which will show position, direction and speed at any time of the day or night. Officers would follow until they decide the car is in a safe position to be stopped and locked.

Buy a hitch package from Ford and tie a rotweiller to it. I also suggest using a 50ft leash.
Problem solved. Works for towtruck drivers and parking enforcement officers also.

Another option might be an electronic fuel pump with a hidden toggle swtich if the lojack is too much $$. If someone steals your car they will run out of gas as soon as the carb empties. So the car will stall out on them 1/10 mi away.
