One of our other members ordered thier car from the same dealer as I did. He was told today that there was a shortage of railcars and that 6000 mustangs are sitting waiting to be shipped.

Can anyone confirm this for us?? We all know that the dealers can give some pretty hokey stories when they cant explain delays on orders. I have a call in to my sales guy to confirm it, but, as of this evening, havent heard anything.

I wouldn't put too much stock in it.....however....what I did find out today was that mine isn't listed as shipped yet, but..... they don't always show up as shipped, sometimes they just appear.

Kind of a mixed bag, I know.....I guess I'll find out next Friday if it's late (That's the ETA)

I haven't heard anything about this. That being said, it doesn't mean it isn't true. We don't have another Mustang scheduled to arrive until next week, so I'll know better then. Everything else has been coming right on time though.

Jess, I talked to Ellen Vega. She literally got off the phone with Ford when she talked to me. She sounded very sure, and not making it up. She will be calling me today or tomorrow at the latest to verify where my car is. My guess is that our cars will be coming on the same rail car...and they are supposed to call me when the truck comes in. I would think, if there are 6k stangs sitting arround...that someone in MI could check. Isn't there a member whos lives in Flat Rock?

Hey SurfnSoCal, after getting that number for Fords customer service to check on my car, I called as you know; I did ask about any delays with the shipping even though mine had already been ship and the lady I was speaking to said that they new of no such delays, but that could very well be as unreliable as a dealer, since apparently hardly anyone working for Ford actually knows anything about Ford and the cars. Just thought Id let you know what another source was saying though about the situation.
