Question for Vert owners

On my new 08. The driver side latch to the convertable is a real Bi$#@ to get closed. To the point my wife can't close it when putting the top back up. Passenger side is cake, lines up and just swing the latch into the closed position. However the driver side takes some brute muscle to get it back with lining it up and pulling down after making sure the motor has gone down as far as it can.

Is there an adjustment for this? Or will it get better as the cloth top stretches?

Anyone else have this problem or dealt with this issue in the past?

It will stretch some with time.
I have an 06 and both latches are tight on mine. I have to hold the button down to close the top as far as possible, then grab the center handle and pull down. While holding the center handle down both latches will close easily.

My driver's side one was always harder to latch than the passenger side. I had to pull down on the center handle to get the driver's side latched.

Some days it was harder than others... couldn't really put my finger on what was the difference between and easy day and a hard day.

Try re-adjusting the stops at the header. I adjusted mine and both sides are easy to close.

Mine was hard at first, had to hang on the roof and grab the handle to get it down.
Now a piece of cake, almost drops into place. give it some time.

Cool Thank's. So there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Like you said actually hanging on the mid handle to get it down for the handle to grab is about the only way right now. Eventially wife can take it out and get this thing back up on her own

My cloth top has never been difficult to latch. I motor it up until it hits the top of the windshield. Then I grab the center handle and pull down slightly. Both latches then lock easily.
