Question In Production, Trim Line?

So I ordered a 2009 Premium GT Coupe in Brilliant Silver with the Glass Roof option. I am very interested in the vehicle build history, but unfortunately, online tracking via Blue Oval Forums (BOF) is no longer available. My salesman has been very helpful, sending me production updates as they are available (see below). However, the information I have been sent does not appear to directly correspond with the information provided on BOF. For example, sequence, segment, and blend are not specifically used. I thought I had figured it out, but the assigned build date was 11/21 and the actual produced date was 11/24. However, there is a record on 11/21 of IN PRODUCTION, TRIM LINE. Anyone know what this means? If I understand how the glass roof option is installed, the car is first built and then sent for modification to install the glass roof. Could that explain things?

Sorry for the formatting!

it could be. the way i'm reading it, it looks like that is the part where the 'options' (things like my color, leather seats, glass roof, etc.) are installed; but that's just a guess

What you're seeing is actually called a "Vehicle Visibility" report from the dealer connection. Unfortunately that site doesn't give too much detail on what "Trim Line" stands for, as this is the definition it gives in the glossary: "The vehicle is in the second stage of production." More than likely what happened is that your car was started on the evening/night shift on the 21st (Friday) and then they finished it on the 24th (Monday). If the car is produced quickly, that usually doesn't show up (I know it didn't for my car).

But, about your question about where the Glass Roof is being installed...it's right now. Your car was released from AAI and sent, via rail (a very short rail), literally across the street where they have 3rd party accessories installed (Glass Roof, SYNC, etc.) Eventually it'll be yet again released from there to be delivered to your location.

Hope this helps!

Smile Thanks

I want to thank everyone for their input. airforceixi, you really helped clear things up for me. So if I am reading everything correctly now, my vehicle history is:

ORDERED, October 18, 2008
RECEIPTED, October 20, 2008
SERIALIZED , October 23, 2008
SEGMENT DETERMINED, October 23, 2008
SEQUENCE DETERMINED, November 6, 2008
BLEND DETERMINED, November 12, 2008
PRODUCED, November 24, 2008 (A mustang was born this day!)

As I understand it, an Adobe Acrobat PDF of my window sticker should now be available. Unfortunately, my salesman has not been able to locate it. Is there some specific computer system or software he should be using to get the information?

Thanks again to everyone who responded.

Hey Austin, the window labels always came from a Ford factory worker, who has access to it. I would try to send someone a PM over on Blueovalnews.com. That is how I got mine back in the day. Back then Kzinti was around helping out future owners, but he was shut down/layed off/took buyout/etc. Don't really know what happened to him. As you can see by my sig, I work at a dealer, but I can't get window labels of a car that hasn't reached the lot yet. Its something a factory worker has access to.

That's my understanding as well. Without Viper, it seems we have no inside information for tracking our cars. It is also my understanding that calling ERL no longer gets you the automated phone system. Still, with the help of mustang enthusiasts here, it is still possible to pull all the relevant information together.

Here's hoping I can get my salesman to determine the railcar number when it ships.

The Vehicle Visibility report should give you the railcar number, along with keeping you up to date each time the railcar reaches critical points or is exchanged by carriers.
