My dealer told me that my $100 deposit locks in my price at the time of order. Of course I am using Z-plan which is the same as A-plan but that doesn't make a difference. You got hosed  :notnice:
I was on no plan with no deposit and I had my price locked in.

So does the dora act as a purchase agreement? Or would need that seperate from the dora? I received dora because I was there when he ordered it. He printed it out and gave it to me. It has my A-plan price on it but I think it also says. (this is not an invoice). Should I be locked in or no?

Jason - what you received at the time of ordering was the Vehicle Order Confirmation (VOC). It's just a screen snapshot of the info they entered into their computer. The Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement (DORA) is not available for him to give to you at the time of ordering....it's usually available the day after you order. The Vehicle Cash Purchase Agreement is a separate document from the other two, and must be signed by the dealer in order to be valid. Hope this helps!

Yeah I got took too. My car was $400 more than what my VOC was, even after adding $450 to it for the I.U.P. I was able to get in mid-Dec. VOC date was 10/29/04 & got car on 2/15/05. Looks like they added the increases. I let it slide only because they stuck with their original trade-in offer, even after I added 2,000 miles to old car since that offer. If they would have offered less because of the added miles, I would have told them they're gonna stick to it for trying to slip in the extra $400 without saying anything about it to me.

in the fine print on the back of my original order form - it states:

2. PRICE CHANGES. The manufacturer has reserved the right to change the list price of new motor vehicles without notice, and in the event the the list price of the new car ordered hereunder is so changed, the cash delivered price , which is based on the list price effective on the day of delivery, will govern in this transaction. If the cash delivered price is increased as a result of the manufacturer's change in the list price, purchaser may, if dissatisfied with such increased price, cancel this order

AJC - I'm not sure what you mean by your "original order form"

On the back of my "Vehicle Cash Purchase Agreement" (which my dealer and I signed) it says:
6 - Price changes: (a) The total cash price delivered less the trade-in allowance shown on the front of this agreement is the final contract price to which you and I have agreed, and, if the vehicle is a new motor vehicle, no additional fee or charge will be imposed or collected due to changes in the manufacturers list price, or changes in the cost of freight or services provided by you.

The only way to interpret that is "I'm locked in".

this is on the back of the Vehicle Buyers Order (harris ford - seattle).
I cancelled my order after waiting 2months and bought my car straight off the delivery truck in olympia washington, it had just been brought in.

thats strange. Looks almost like they are refering to dealership deals with the factory - but then it does say retail... not sure what to make of it.

how about the actual order form filled out and signed by you when you ordered the car? thats a carbon copy sheet with specific details regarding your order and the price set during ordering... it has information related to ordering cars on the back....

This came off fmcdealer.com which is a dealer's eyes only web site. Karpro who is a salesman showed this to us. You might want to PM him with the specifics

We do need to be careful with someone the inside information we get here on TMS. Since much of it is dealers-eyes-only (or in a certain case dealers-ears-only ). We can use the information but some might get us in more trouble then help.

I plainly asked my dealer's GM when I ordered my GT in Nov, before the first price increase, if it would be price protected. He said yes. I say stand your ground to anyone in this situation.
