I ordered in Nov and got locked into a price (code 515 I think).
Anyway when I went to pick her up and pay for her I had to come up
with the price increase difference of two price increases that had
occurred after my order and prior to pick up.
The guy who ordered my car said that only the plans (A, X, D etc) lock you in.
Soooo if that is true then keep that in mind those of you who
are ordering sans a plan. I had to write a check for $575 at close that I was
unprepaired for. (There goes my GPS system). :notnice: :notnice: :notnice:

If it was a retail order, prices are supposed to be locked in. Regardless of plans. They took you.

I would certainly push it - that is a lot of $ to walk away from.

I am thinking about questioning the FDAF fee ($240). It seems some people are getting out of paying it... I have to look into it some more. There was a thread about it last week.

Wrong!!!!!!!!! What is it with some of these low-rent dealerships? Start making some phone calls, and get your cash back. I hope you have all of your original paperwork with the original price and your DORA and VOC with the price codes on them. Good luck and keep us posted.

My dealer told me that my $100 deposit locks in my price at the time of order. Of course I am using Z-plan which is the same as A-plan but that doesn't make a difference. You got hosed  :notnice:

Karpro had posted a memo about this from Ford saying all order prices are locked in. Might want to search for it. I had printed it out and saved it just in case my dealer trys pulling this on me. You got hosed big time. Make a stink about it, they are ripping you off

When I picked up my Mustang 2 weeks ago it took half an hour and multiple tries before the biz mgr was able to finally work up a bill of sale that had the proper pricing on it. I would have gotten hosed approx $400 too if I hadn't pushed and pushed him. In this case they agreed that I shouldn't have to pay for the price increases but still found it difficult to find the 'right' starting point. And even after all of that - he still didn't have my AQHA $500 rebate deducted and I missed due to all the confusion over the right price. Now I have to wait for that to be sent to me from Ford. What a bunch of crooks these guys can be!!

On my VOC dated 2/16/05, it states "price level 540" . What does price level 540 mean? I'm suppossed to get the Xplan. I did not have to give a deposit with my order and I was told I can't get my final price until Ford puts a sticker on the vehicle with the current MSRP. I was told that my xplan will be 1500 to $2000 off the sticker price. I have the 2/16/05 MSRP on my VOC but basically that may not be my MSRP at delivery. Is there something in writing that states info about price protection from the increasing MSRP after ordering?

Thanks for the info

I can't find that in my search. I don't suppose you have a link or saved it on your comp did you? I would really like to have a copy of the memo as ammunition if they try to pull something.

Just type in Karpro in the search box. Then look for a post that deals with Price protection and you'll find the PDF file that Karpro posted.

Price level 540 is the pricing level in effect at the time you ordered. Your X-plan price should be printed on your VOC and DORA. This price should also be on your Vehicle Purchase Agreement. They don't have to wait to see what the MSRP is at delivery. If you don't have a Purchase Agreement, you should go back and insist on getting this deal in writing. That way, there's no funny business on delivery day. Good luck!

I'm in somewhat of the same boat outdoor. Although I ordered after the price increases (so it won't apply to me unless they issue another increase). But I was told by my dealer that my price is 'locked in' once they receive an invoice from the factory which they usually get about the time is serialized and assigned a VIN number.

I'm not sure why the dealers are telling people that. You can go onto Ford's website with your X-plan PIN and find out the exact price yourself.

I think you got hosed. There was a price increase during my wait time but the guy that I ordered from signed a sheet saying that I wouldn't pay anything other than what was quoted during my order. It wasn't phrased in that way but he signed the sheet that had my negotiated price on it and when I picked up my car he was joking with me about it being nice that my price was locked in with my order, otherwise I would have had to come up with 300 bucks more I think.

I think you should try to talk to the dealership or fleet manager about your situation. Do you have any documentation? Did they sign anything when you ordered?

Good Luck.
