Good news for me (I think)... Although I don't have a Gate Release and Ship Date yet from Mr.K, ERL said something about leaving the facility (?) and my ETA went from 3/1 (last week's info) to the week of 2/18. Most customers from SoCal took delivery 12/13 days from ship date.

Tom, I'm sure that you will find out what's going on with your Stang, soon. At least you're somewhat in the loop versus just calling your salesman for an update. Hang in there bro.

Hey guys !!!
I need some help here. I 'm not getting much info from my dealer about the status of my car. The day I ordered my car I was given a VEHICLE ORDER COFIRMATION SHEET but was told that they would call me if they here anything. Without being a pest ,Is there a way to get ifo without bugging the dealer.
I ordered on 1/18/06. By looking at all the other orders , my car should be built soon. ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS ???????

I ordered mine the week after and it is currently clean and unscheduled, no serial # yet. I would hope you would get a serial # first, but you can't be sure.

Well guys & gals,
After 8 months of waiting, it's finally in the garage. It is what I expected and more. The power is amazing, stock. IMO, she needs wider tires though. When you knock it down in second, the beast wants to spin free. Trust me, you won't be dispappointed. I'll post better pictures as soon as I clean it. Here's a couple from the dealership.

Very cool Bill. Did you sign up for an account? I tried, but they said 3 days until I'll get login info. I'm not sure they'll let me anyway, since I am not an "industry" person.

Here's what I got when I tried to use the vehicle tracker: 821416 3711120795636684795587921P TD *Departed 0 392200000 DECATUR DECATUR IL 0 2006 02 13 07 55 00 0 L 0 0 0 NS H9 795636684 795587921 ETI ETA Industry 0 Not Visible City Not Visible City Not Visible State Not Visible 0 2006 02 23 09 31 00 0 L 14 801 0 CU 795636684 795587921

I think that means the railcar left Decatur IL this morning at 7:55am. The analyst did tell me the train left on 2/11. I guess she means it left Flat Rock?

Hey Susan! Not sure how to read the report; haven't done it myself yet. Not sure you need to register either, can probably just use the basic tracking on the Motor Vehicle Equipment Trace window?

I'm still waiting for confirmation that she's outta that gate and onto a railcar. I've read an older post that a Convoy Carrier was used the entire way from Flat Rock to San Diego and missed boarding a railcar all together.

Call the ERL. She will tell you that "as of Feburary 10, your vehicle has shipped via convoy with an ETA of 2/XX" That's your confirmation that the car shipped. Then you can say "analyst" and play the game to get the railcar number.

Tom - you can track mine if you want to

Well, I'm getting a different message. ERL says, "As of Feburary 10, your vehicle has been released from the (can't understand her word, sounds like 'foreign') Assembly Plant with an ETA week of 2/18."

I guess this means that I have a gate Release and not a Ship Date yet?

Wish I could do some rail tracking too.

Mine seems to be stuck at 'Gate Release' since 2/10. Historical data shows Ship Date to be either on the same day as "Produced' or the very next day.

My Mustang must be so wild that it's giving the shipper one heck of a time loading her on the railcar! Yeah, that must be it.

Tom - at least Kzinti got a response from the plant. They know you're looking for it. I really wonder what's up.

Hey all, new to the site. I ordered my Tungsten 06 Mustang GT on January 21st, made a mod to the order about a week later (added alarm system), and now its scheduled for build on February 20th. I called the dealer an they claimed that the entire car is built in a single day, but takes about 3 weeks to ship because its moved to a huge lot in ohio where its put on either an east-bound train or a west bound one, then put into a lot in Maryland (for the area I live in, northern VA), where it is then moved to the dealer. They told me if it is scheduled for the 20th, it'd likely come in in the first 10 days of March. Does anyone know if this sounds right? I believe the shipping part, but as far as the car being built in a single day, I'm not so sure. Also, the dealer told me I couldn't track the status online, but if I called them, they'd update me on it. Sound right? If its all true, its great news because they orginally told me it'd be about 8 weeks, which'd mean it'd come by the 18th of march.

It sucks hearing about the kind of waits people are having to deal with. I've had a pretty good experience so far with the dealers in the area, but then again the place I ordered from is one of the top Ford dealers in the country. They've got such great business and service that they let me test drive 4 different mustangs without ever even checking my license.

Shaun, we can probably answer a few of your questions.

First, I believe the cars are built in a day. I saw status on one car that was being painted at 4:45am and was finished that day.

Second, I doubt that there's a 1 week wait on a shipping lot in Ohio, because my car shipped 2/11 and is now somewhere in Missouri. Moved through Decatur IL earlier today.

I just heard from my banker that dealers tend to underpromise and overdeliver, so your car will likely be in before the 10th if all goes well.

Finally, try this out. This guy can help you track your car. You just post your VIN for daily updates. It is really a cool service he provides, and he volunteers.

Not sure if I will ever find out why it was held (is being held). If I ever get a reason, I will definitely post it here. "Not yet. Hopefully this week" still doesn't sound too positive to me, though.

I did call the dealer this morning and told them I was getting a little upset.

Yeah, me too! They found a car to put mine on. I'm so sorry, once again.

Tom, the fact that Bill's car is sitting at the railyard makes me wonder if your dealer is correct. Although maybe there is a railcar shortage now, there must not have been before last Thursday. They didn't seem to have a problem putting mine on the train. Y'all make me feel really bad.

Why don't we just all drive up there and grab these cars??
