We wanted to set up a place to chat while we wait. Found each other over on blueovalforums in the Vehicle Build Status thread, but this is a better site to chat (or whatever you want to call it?). Anyone is welcome. We're all just waiting for our new babies and pretty excited about it.

I have a question - we ordered the 64W's, but the dealer said they're not available. Looks like some are on the cars going through the factory right now. Anyone know the real answer on this?

Also, our dealer can't figure out how to order the dark IUP. Any clues?

Thanks!

My Dealer had no problem ordering the 64W wheels (18in bullets) or the Dark IUP. Look for the Mustang order PDF on this site and it gives the order codes for the car.

The 64W's are available but they very restricted. In my market the are only available on 22% of GT's produced. As for the dark IUP they just need to add 67D option code along with the 18G IUP code.

Hey Susan! I think we're running neck and neck! Same Serialize/Segment date as you.

I have the 64W and the dark IUP optioned on my stang. Let's hope it doesn't create a delay when ours hit the line.

btw- we're in the same update post by Mr. K

Hey Bill! I tried to call the number today and got put through to an analyst. Scary - I was a little uncomfortable. I couldn't tell if anything was different. Still says "scheduled to be built week of Feb 6", but then he repeated "the car will be built ON Feb 6, Jessie". (that's my dealer's name. I'll watch what Mr. K has to say and check in with him again sometime next week.

This is worse than 9 months of waiting for a baby!

Oh yeah, and my husband tells me it was the 64Es that he ordered for me, which aren't available. You should be fine with your 64Ws. He said he doesn't want to change it now - we'll just take the stock and ebay 'em later or something. I really wanted the lower profile tire

Hey Susan!
Yup, tried calling the ERL this afternoon and was taking way too long to get transferred so I hung up.

The 64E wheels are 18" just like the 64W's, both have the same low profile tires. (see pic below, compliments of WarningSLO)

I too will maybe drop Mr.K a message maybe this Friday or Saturday (heard movements occur on Thursdays and Fridays) for another update.

And yes, the waiting... at least ours seems to be moving along better than others here on the forum (like 6+ months!)

Here's another close up shot of the fanblade and tire (thanks to Imatk)

Chris told me tonight that the 64Es are on "commodity hold", which he said he understood to mean that we can put a hold on the car until the wheels are available, or we can take the 17s and run with it. He promises to upgrade me later, so I'll take the 2/6 build week

Didn't know that the 64E's were on shortage. A couple of months back, the 64W's were the ones that were on shortage.

When we toured AAI with Brad earlier this month we saw all of the optional wheels along the line, 17 inch bullits were still the most prevalent. By the way convertibles take 2 or 3 days longer to leave the factory because the tops need time to "cure"on the car before they can close fully.

Welcome Susan,
Glad to see you have discovered Kzinti, he will keep you excited with tidbits of information on your new Mustang. Be sure to ask for a window sticker, it will be avialable after it has been blended. I almost bought an 06 Convertible but kept the '89 GT Vert and got the coupe. You are going to have so much fun with this car

Sorry!
No tease intended. Just a close-up of the blades to show that they're not bad looking at all. Only because you said you had originally wanted the 18" bullitts, but had ordered the 64E's instead.
Knowing now that it'll come with the 17" bullitts, which by the way looks pretty cool too, you can take your time and find the perfect wheels!

btw- I had a 90 GT hatchback, it sure was fun! But, I think the 06 will be funner (is this a word?)!!

I've driven my buddies '06 GT coupe and it's a blast. We added the Flowmaster mufflers the week after he bought it and WOW did it sound great!

We have both lowered every Mustang we have owned, but we aren't going to touch these since the ride is awesome (even though it still looks a little 4x4-ish).

Can't wait to drive the vert!!

Sure... until you come across a good deal on a set of Eibach Pro springs!

Well... I'm going to really TRY not to lower it.

My only plans so far are to get a light bar and hood scoop from CDC. From what I hear, the 2007 GT is going to come with a hood scoop and CDC sells the scoop that Ford will use. I might also get a chin spoiler and the black panel that goes between the tail lights.

If you all don't know about ponybuilder.com, go here and you can play around:

Trying to come up with a creative license plate for my car. Any ideas anyone? I can't do the standard cheesy "topless" b/c I'm in management and don't think that would reflect well - haha

Thought about 5537d0L, but can't get a lowercase "d".

I also thought about playing off the color - any thoughts?

5537d0L - read it upside down

Now I see it... like you said, too bad you can't get a lowercase "d".

Cutie Inside

SI QT DE - the QT is "in" SIDE. People would be behind you always trying to figure that one out.
