We wanted to set up a place to chat while we wait. Found each other over on blueovalforums in the Vehicle Build Status thread, but this is a better site to chat (or whatever you want to call it?). Anyone is welcome. We're all just waiting for our new babies and pretty excited about it.

I have a question - we ordered the 64W's, but the dealer said they're not available. Looks like some are on the cars going through the factory right now. Anyone know the real answer on this?

Also, our dealer can't figure out how to order the dark IUP. Any clues?

Thanks!
I took an order for an already allocated car with 64W wheels, then I changed it to exactly what I wanted.

I don't know if this means anything but-
The bottom of the VOC reads:
"INFO:REFER TO THE ORDER GUIDE DATED 11/1/05
TO VERIFY DESIRED WHEEL OPTION"

This makes our cars seem very inexpensive:

Any car that gets a combined CITY55%/HIGHWAY45% average of less than 22.5mpg gets a gas guzzler tax.
I wonder what the Shelby's will be?

If Car & Driver's info is right it should be the same $2100. I doubt that will stop any buyers.

At the $150k sticker, the $2100 is incidental to total cost. I agree - not likely to stop buyers in that class.

When one can afford 150k+ for a car, one does not worry about a silly little tax. Nor does one "pay the bill". They have people that take care of that simple task for them. Must be nice.

Can't believe I don't have a ship date yet. Everybody else's build date, release date, and ship dates are the same or very close to the same. I can't help being concerned about it since I want everything to go smoothly... plus I want the car NOW!!

Hope it's either that delay on the convertible tops or just a lag in the system.

I'm sorry At least I can use your lagtime to figure out what mine will be. I bet it will ship today or tomorrow at the latest. That's a 1-week lag from production. I would think that would be enough time for ragtop to cure, huh? I hope there's not a quality hold on it.

nooooo!! don't say that. His isn't a convertible, so it's not the top issue. Yours probably shipped today. Maybe you could get your dealer to call?

I called to tell THEM that it was built and they didn't know yet!

Guess they don't check for updates hourly, like us!

I told him I wouldn't ask for another update until next month, so I can't ask until Wednesday...

Yep, we're total maniacs. I noticed you said "next month" over there. Made me laugh. Yeah, I had no movement, so I guess I'll TRY to wait til Thursday. I have read that most of the "movement" occurs on Thursdays.

Good luck to those of you waiting. I remember how it is. I did it twice.

Hey Susan! Looks like it's recently averaging between 10-12 days between 'sequencing' and 'blend' dates. With that as a guide, that puts us at Thursday, 2/2 at the earliest. And according to Mr.K, our window sticker should be available a couple of days after blend.

Checking the Blue Oval and TMS several times a day is starting to become a habit.

I had the pictures posted here, but to save space I put links in my signature instead.

So Bill, are you going to wait until Friday to ask for an update, or Thurs? I think I'll post after K's update on Wed, hoping he'll update on Thurs. Then if nothing, again on Fri. How impatient am I?

Tom - that is so awesome! So you kept it in original working condition? Were you on the force or did you purchase it? Do they not make you remove lights and such? Drive it much? That brings back such bittersweet memories of my '89 LX 5.0 convertible. I just want to touch it!!

Donna - thanks for supporting us "waiters". I checked out some of your links - so the V6 wasn't enough power for you? I love both cars, but on the bellsouth homepage, I wanted to see the before and after, but it looks like the links are broken. Looks like you have tons of fun with your GT!!

Well, I may wait til Friday for a weekend update. But, if I see your post there before hand, I'll just assume the dates provided my Mr.K will apply to me as well. He did mention to a few others that the computer system is slow at times and doesn't always reflect in real time, sometimes up to 2 days later.

My Uncle bought the car back in the early 90's when they put the Mustangs out of service. He kept it in a garage and I bought it from him about 5 years ago. It was totally stripped of everything. I put the stripes back on, had the emblems made, bought the lightbar ($$$), put in corner strobes (also $$$), and even added a siren. It's as close to original as I could get it (I even have the 10-hole rims in storage if I really want to make it look official - but they are ugly). It's a show car, but I do drive it (the lightbar comes off easily and the emblems are magnetic). Here's a link to the way it looks when I drive it. I just got the new engine in that I built. I converted over from EFI to a carb. Here's a pic of the engine almost done. Mostly I take it to local car shows but I try to drive it to work once a week.

Oh, and Donna, no I'm not from SC... I'm from FL. I do want to find a Fun Ford Weekend or something up there so I can show it!
