Ok. I have seen a lot of references to different stages in the ordering process, but no posts that describe it all. On 1/22, I ordered a Torch Red GT Premium Convertible, Charcoal Leather, IUP, Alarm, Manual, Shaker 500, and I would really like it if someone could explain what happens, and all of the designations, after the order is sent in. I want to be able to follow it, but at this point I don't understand the process. Thanks in advance.

It's pretty simple, you just wait, and wait.. and wait. Brad's got a glossary of what all the different stages are, I'll have to look for a link. But basically it get's ordered, then Ford pulls it, wait for VIN, build date, etc. it gets built... and delivered. Pretty logical really. At this point it's just a waiting game. Congrats on your order.

Search my friend, there's a wealth of info here. To answer your question, DORA = Dealer Order Reciept Acknowledgment. It's what Ford sends your dealer once your order is received, a confirmation on what was ordered.

At which dealership did you place your order? We ordered at Extreme at 135th and Metcalf. I have a few stories for you if you ordered there. That is if your name indicates you live in KC and not just a fan of the town.

My bad, just looked at where you are from........

I ordered from Shawnee Mission Ford out Shawnee Mission Parkway a ways. I didn't even look at extreme....mainly just Shawnee Mission and Bob Allen. The guy at Bob Allen would not budge from MSRP. Shawnee Mission sold it to me for 1k over invoice. It has only been a week, so I haven't heard much yet. I would be interested to hear your stories though.

Oops, F'd up. Watching The Simpsons and not paying attention to what I'm clicking on. We didn't talk to Shawnee. We did see a V6 at Bob Allen with a 5K markup for 20 in rims. I'll PM you about Extreme. We are scheduled for delivery between Feb 8-15 but had a few bumps along the way.

I PM'd you about SM. Yes....my original salesman is there. He is the same guy I have been talking to since October. Please tell me what's up...even though I don't know if I want to hear it.
