The Auto Alliance Plant was originally a Mazda-only plant when it was first opened, before Ford buying into Mazda. At the time, Mazda and Honda were looking at opening plants in the southeast Michigan area. Honda got bad vibes and decided to go a little further south into Ohio.

As for the plant, it is still a very, clean, modern facility. The Mazda6 has garnered nothing but praise and its build quality appears to be quite high, which I think, will bode quite well for the Mustang.

I have been seeing the '05s all over the Motown area (engineers/plant guys driving them).

I can't wait.

-Proc, who will get one next spring...GT Baby!!!

Thanks for the comments

Here's a better picture of what my car looks like now.. Just waiting to install my hood scoop

If the rims look gold... it's not your screen... it's because they have a gold-ish tint to them. They are 40th anniversary edition Bullitts

I have more pics up in the Intro area of the forum.

Edit - Second pics look horrible. Needs another washing

Proc - I completely remember when they built the plant. The area I live in isn't very "diverse" so, I remember we had a lot of asian kids being in our schools, the kids seemed to have come from out of no where. It was pretty cool and funny as a kid.

Hey Amy...A buddy of mine got one of the first jobs working at AAI back in the day. All the employees had to do calestenics/exercises before their shifts...it was bizarre for auto workers in Michigan at that time.

Do you ride in the Downriver Cruise? My folks are in Trenton, right next to you.

Are you headed to the event on the 19th? I've got a 3PM time slot...can't wait!

I keep hearing nothing but awesome stuff from AAI.

Yup... I was at the Downriver Cruise. Run a search on here.. you'll see the pics I took.. or just look at the 2005 page.. a lot of pics from the cruise on there.

I'll be at the drive event on Belle Isle, got the 10am slot I can't wait either. And yup.. I'll be at the Woodward Dream Cruise too.

Might wanna check out MotownMuscle and Tri-StateMuscle for some local event stuff
