My dealer called today and said they were unloading my 07 GT off the truck and she took pictures. I called my insurance agent and got full coverage on it so we could pick it up on 09-20-06.I'll post pictures later.Thanks for all the info and help from the other members on TMS.Ordered 07-25 and delivered on 09-20-06.Just got a call from my dealer,they found a paint chip missing on the leading edge of the hood when they pulled off a piece of tape.There was no paint on the tape though.I told her in all the pictures I'd seen on TMS there was tape on the bumper-but never had I seen any on the hood! She is putting it in the body shop ASAP and perhaps it won't be coming home 9-20 after all.A black GT that was in front of mine on the truck had $3,000 damage on the side,under the rocker panel.OH well, guess we'll see if they fix mine alright.

UPDATE:The dealer is having the hood removed so there will be no chance of getting overspray on the rest of the car after the paint chip is repaired. The entire hood will be clearcoated and I will get a lifetime warranty on all the work done after they bake the hood.My GT will be ready friday,but I'll be on vacation so I guess it'll be monday before we can get it.

 

I picked my gt up 09-25-06 and the paint chip missing fom hood looks ok,can't tell it was ever there.They were paving hwy 17 and I managed to run off the road but was able to get back on the pavement with no damage done.The sales manager only gave me one set of keys and when I called to see if they had turned up he swears he gave them to me.One week later and still no keys, that is my only complaint.I will post pictures soon as possible.I keep thinking of a bumper sticker I saw that said "I'm spending my kid's inheritance".LOL 10-06-06 Found my keys between passenger seat and console! Called dealer and apologized.

Congrats on your purchase.....I got mine 2 weeks ago and I had to claybar off an anhesive like stain on the same area on the front of my hood and EXCESSIVE overspray on the rear corner areas of the hood by the winshield pillars also. I didn't notice it until the next day because it was overcast on the day I brought it home but in direct sunlight it was the first thing I saw that morning. The claybar and a new coat of wax did the trick.

 

There is a LOT of construction on I-75 right by AAI in Flat Rock, MI (where the S197 Stangs are being assembled) so it might be possible that the cars are getting hit by a lot of construction debris or junk during transport.

Online reports indicate ongoing construction until mid november. I think I'll wait until next Spring before ordering the GT.
