passenger side airbag indicator - how do I shut it off?

How do I make the indicator go off besides having a second person in the car? Or is this one of those stupid Federal mandates like TPMS?

It will only be off if the seat is being used.

Shouldn't be on with no one in the seat, unless your using a seatbelt extender.

Mine shows off if I have my work bag on the passenger seat. The sensor shuts the airbag off if a small person is in the seat

+1 Will be off if the seat is vacant, but will turn on if there is something on the seat that weighs less than an adult.

That's a good thing because it means she's light! It's a bad thing because the airbag won't deploy...
