Can the Passenger Side airbag be turned off??? Simple question.

There's not a on/off switch per se. It turns itself off automatically when there's a specific weight range on the seat.

 

The other day when I was driving with my girlfriend, the passenger airbag off light came on while she was in it. She is thin, but she definitely weighs more than 40 pounds (or whatever it is).

 

Whatever you do, don't tell her that the sensor is broken because her weight is more than what is required to set it off. She might take it the wrong way

Not sure in lbs., but for reference my daughter is 7 1/2, probably weighs around 60lbs and her book bag makes the difference. So if an adult female is tripping the "off" light, I'd say either my sensor or your sensor is wrong.

MY EX USE TO SIT IN IT WHO WEIGHTED ABOUT 100LBS. AND IT WOULD TURN OFF AT TIMES. SO I THINK THE LIMIT IS ABOUT 100 LBS.
